Every now and then I get an epiphany, or maybe it's a sugar rush, but while balancing a chemistry equation for my non-chem business partner I discovered how bind a benzine ring thereby eliminating a large portion of waste we must pay to remove. This pertains to our Zinc, Yellow (Green & Red) Chromate, Nickel and a few other platings.

In order for us to develop an application for a patent we must know it works and under various circumstances. I will be in charge of this project and I be needing a wide variety of metals. I don't want to take my cars apart, nor do I want to buy fist fulls of hardware, so killing 2 birds with 1 stone I'll do a lot of free plating for you guys during the entire month of Nov. I'll be working out the details over the next couple of weeks but it will be simple, send us your parts and your desired finishes and we'll return your parts within 1 week. Sandwich your parts between 2 pieces of cardboard and ship it book rate, I don't care. If you plan things out and not in any hurry, you can ship very cheaply. There will likely be a limit on size but not on volume (be reasonable please). Think about this, ask me questions and hopefully you can get some nice show parts and hardware for a few bucks shipping.

By request from a high end european car restorations expert, groomed by our previous owner, I've been working on matching new old finishes for car restoration. Very slightly aged or toned down cad finishes, Blue rainbow for stamped steel parts and many other finishes that last much longer than current conventional finishes. This will likely be included with the presented offer.

Red chromb never seen it but I bet some would look good under the hood of a red vette

Uniform dip temperatures and quick drying times make more desirable color variegation. Some suppliers for manufactures have a more orange than green hue, Ferrari, Fiat Porche until '78, Mopar '73 to '81, Olds '62 through '66 and Buick '58 through '71.

What kinds of chromeing are you doing I have a vette & a harley for practice I could always find things that look better shiney. You will get a kick out of this my one bike was all chrome except for the tank & frame

I didn't say anything about Chrome plating
You have seen new Black brake boosters? Sometimes they come in a transparent qoldish color with hints of other colors. This is called Yellow Chromate, an oxoanion or a oxidation agent precursor of Chromium, the main element of Chrome.
Some Nuts and bolts, some stamped metal parts that need to have a moderate résistance to salt water corrosion have this transparent Yellow hue coating. It's not a paint, nor any dye.
May times you'll see these parts in newly manufactured autos. The linkages and pinhead screws on Carburetors, some fan pulleys on alternators, some fan clutches, late model OEM GM wheel nuts and many other parts.

Do you have any pics of the colors you're talking about..? I'm having trouble picturing them..

Are You refinishing replating Quadrajet and Pontiac Tripower carbs Richard ?
I have been told that it can no longer be done in the USA. Just in Canada.

Yes and NO! Absolutely not true. I bet there is well over a couple dozen shops beside us that do those carbs well. We all know each other because we all are on a plating list and talk to each other. The man I bought this business from was at the top of his game, much in the same way we all think of Grumpy, only old man Geoffrey didn't share his knowledge unless there was something greater for him in trade. He was as deceptive as he was a genius, sold me this business hiding the fact that the DEPA was hot on his ass to shut him down. I found out later and I wound up paying more for corrective refitting and Hazzard clean up than I did for the business itself. Hopefully If nothing serious happens I can stop paying out of my pocket in 24 to 36 months. To assure my success I found a great business partner, the real boss, is tight with a penny and he only gets paid when the shop pays that month's scheduled repayment. His portion of the company is totally contingent on seeing profitability within the next 3 years. I'm not worried, the bank believes in us enough to acquire the remaining business park on our future bookings.

The process to bring back factory look to the QJets and Tripower has 16 steps to errase the soaked in fuels and oils that discolor the air horns and bodies. We can extract the contamination from deep within the castings. Our shop does the Rochester carbs for the Peterson Museum and Holleys for the worlds preeminent authority on 1st gen Ford Thunderbird restorations in TX.

I dont expect you to work for Free.
The carbs I have are worth well over $10k today.
I would show up in person with them.

Oh, this wouldn't be free. You are welcome to deliver it, but not smart to pay expenses for 17 hours travel times 2 and time away from work. Your classic car insurance can cover costs to replace, and Haggerty will even task their parts pickers to locate another should you loose it.
We have guns come to us worth over $50,000, HD and Indian Motor cycle parts from the single digit years that unlike your cast carbs cannot be replaced.
There is a great shop near the Maritime Museum in Green Bay WI that has our manual on extraction procedures and they are closer to you.

If anyone is interested I may make instructions on how to do some homemade washes and plating upon request only.
I'm not about to spend time if no one cares. You can find lots of info on the web but it will, let me repeat, it will be purposely missing some steps and materials. That's done for a reason.
If you're a chemistry person the formularies are affordable and easier to assemble. Or you can purchase solutions- they can be costly, the alternative is making very large amounts just for what little you really need.
There are outfits on the Internet that will sell you kits, however they're nowhere near the plating and coating you expect. I have seen the results from parts we get and I'll tell you you're better off getting those imposter paints at Eastwood. It will last longer and look good at 6 ft.

The original RAIV Q-jet can not be replaced.
The SD-455 Q-JET Can not be replaced.
Will not find either in any junkyard.
This is not run of the Corvette crap.
Pontiac and the Very Best.

I woould rather die than give my stuff to some stranger.
Get A holed ripped off.
I would have to do very bad things late at night then.

Just because you can't find one that doesn't mean there's none out there, you just have to hunt and pay up.
Personally I couldn't imagine going through life not trusting people to some extent. Conversely, how far do you think you could get if your customers didn't trust you working on their cars. Granted there are a lot of unscrupulous people out there however the good still out number the bad. I didn't get where I'm at today thinking everyone is a crook, and those not in jail just didn't get caught yet. I'm in contact with many people and I can clearly see a wide margin of success between those who have the ability to use senseable reason to trust and those who mistrust everyone they don't know.

You're telling me you never seen a car magazine that featured a low production car that was converted to a wild restomod? Not all of them were turned just because they didn't have the original motor and not everyone keeps the original motor. Right this moment I know where a 72 vette sits with a correct casting numbers, verified stamping ID 69 ZL-1 427. I know it will be for sale down the road when the Lingenfelter twin turbo LS9 arrives next week. To me none of the previous steps nor the next step makes for any good judgement, but it was done none the less. My point is when changes are made, parts become available . . . . . . .so hunt and you will find.
