Yeah! I taught both my sons to use an M1A and AR15 before they were 12,
NOW THEY ARE 34 AND 42, any normal male child seems to have a desire to learn how to shoot so most are very willing to learn if given any chance too.
I also had them complete the state hunter safety course , and the NRA course and get that certificate by age 12
