I will need some desend rear suspension mods to keep the car on the road.
Any one with some experience here ?

Thx Arjen

A posi locking rear diff is a must.

But if new to Real Power an open rear diff is actually safer to learn driving techniques.
Less prone to getting sideways.

It's intended to keep the 400bhp on the road without killing us. Some traffic light sprints but thats it!

Really not has to be done then.
You want 15"x 7" inch wide rims at least.
10 inch or 11 inch wide rims are better on the rear to fit wide tires.

COOPER COBRA TIRES ARE REALLY GOOD AFFORDABLE STREET TIRES.

MICKEY THOMPSON TIRES ARE BETTER.

If you move up to 17 or 18 inch rims you can then use Mickey Thompson Street Comp Tires.
Have them on my 87 Corvette.
A Road Race Tire and Drag Race tire in one.
Perfect For Hooligan Racer Like Me.

The GM A Bodies are limited to how they put power down in stock form.
You will likely want to make upgrades after driving.

GM 1St gen F body needs Help.

2Nd Gen F Z28 & Trans Am better.
Big Power at 500-575 hp its real hard to hookup fast.
Needs work then.

The early Pontiac Widetrack 1959-64 are huge cars but have to do nothing.
They just hookup and go.

I am a drag racer but like high speed handling.

I like Centerline Wheels and Weld Wheels on Hotrods Racecars.

Stock OEM By Corvette Are Excellent.

Rick has some of Koolest Tires on his T-Bucket.
We used to call them FLAME TIRES Here.
Mickey Thompson Ultra Wide that have Flame Tread Patterns.

Anyone has any experience , which manufacturers?
I have found a lot on the net...
I have an Elco Drag car and did a lot of research. If you are going to keep it on the street and only occasionally take it to the track, keep the triangulated 4 link but upgrade the arms to any of the ones available.
I have a beautiful set I just removed from my 67. I'll let them go on the cheap...if they fit. You have a G-Body. I have an A-Body. Find out if they work and if so I'll throw in a brand new frame strengthener.
I'd also add coil overs to the rear. Competition Engineering has affordable shocks with all different spring rates.

It is sad to say, but Centerline went out of business mid-year. A company, that was there from the beginning, shouldn't have left when the sport is growing so much...but they did.

OOps, I forgot to add, they are called Mickey Thompson S/R. But they are a step harder than their Drag Radials which came in different treat patterns. The are DOTs but are fantastic on the track.
You are right about M/T. They are really one step ahead of the tire curve.

I did not know that.
They were around since 1978 Centerline Wheels.

I have the original Centerline 2 piece forged Wheels on my 1970 TA.
Full polished and full Riveted.
Strong light wheels.

I also have Centerline's Convo Pro "Trash cans" on the rear. I will eventually find a set of Convo skinnies for the front. They are beautiful wheels.
I used to have a 74 Firebird and I miss it very much. It was stolen. ;(
