Makes for more reliable starting yes.I'm thinking about it. The spark gap is smaller with a magneto right?
Yes I like using the advance on the street.Did you use units with advance? What space in inches I need on top of the intake? SBC
Ok.I still have a high torque mini starter.
The Alternater is a 60 amp version.
Battery is 5 years old.
So a new battery and higher amp Alternator must be added to the list...
Gasoline is expensive here too.I will think about the magneto. Sounds simple and great. Maybe I will give me one magneto as christmas present for myself
I will throw out my mechanical fuel pump in the next days. The electrical is ordered.
Yes Muncie 4 Speed is in.
I tried 98 octane fuel today instead of 95. Tank was empty. It sounds and feels a little better, no pinging. We also have 100 and 102 octane fuel on some gas stations, but very expensive. All our fuel rates have 5% ethanol in it.
That is an Old Mallory Super Mag IV.I know that it will cost me around $1.200 to get a magneto.
I saw one yesterday here in germany on ebay. It's a Mallory unit.

It is uncommon that you see one here in germany on ebay.
95 octane - $6.40 / gallon. Lowest octane here in germany. In the past we had 87 octane.
95 with 10% ethanol - $6.28, no one want this here.
98 - $6,75
102 - $7,46
I have maximum 8.5" with spark plug wires between top of intake to bottom wiper motor. For diameter there is max 4.5" space to the firewall. I checked it today.
So no space for a magneto or I have to extend the drive of the wiper motor. There is no option to cancel the wiper motor, it is not street legal here.
