Body Panel Replace Or Repair

I have a '05 Dodge truck, and somebody backed into the rear taillight on the right side. Broke the taillight, but also bent in the body where the light attaches to it. I got a new light and was able to install it with only the 2 screws when you let the tailgate down. The two push-in pins don't have anything since the body was pushed in.

So my question is, does anyone cut out sections and fit in new to fit, or is everything now just replace the whole section? I see Rock Auto sells the whole bed side.

I want to get the whole truck painted in the spring, and would like this fixed.

Clear , detailed pictures of the damaged area would be rather helpful?

personally ID most likely check the local salvage yards for the body panel you required,

but I know how to do body work , paint and weld.

so its a no-brainer to do that, if it was not an easy to repair area.
