this looks like a good example of what potentially results if you have skills and way too much money and time available, Ive got to give the guy "an (A) for effort and FABRICATION,
but no more than a "B" for thinking through the results of all that work
"

IN my opinion, who ever built this might have built something comfortable too drive , or maybe something that handled and was fast, powerful, and agile, for tackling difficult terrain,
but instead he decided to show off a damn impressive skill set, at auto metal fabricating, building something,
that looks to be almost useless as anything,
other than an advertising gimmick for a 4x4 fabrication shop, or advertizing his skills at building full size "TRANSFORMER TOYS"??

every once in a while some guys get a bit creative and come up with an odd but new way to miss-match components , and the result while not stock, its also not too bad either, I could see a 496 BBC and a 4L80E with a full manual conversion, with a 3.73:1 rear gear and a dana 60 differential in something like this being a darn fun and interesting combo of components

I'm sure brian will be spinning and spitting flames,
but I personally have a good deal more confidence in a properly and personally built
496-572 BBC engine than in ANY Pontiac engine, I've either seen anyone else build, or have personally built.
and I've built both engine designs to have impressive performance levels, but the main factor is parts cost and ease of finding what you need,
there's certainly not a thing wrong with either engine design,
that can,t be easily corrected with available aftermarket components.
but even die hard Pontiac supporters will be forced to admit there's a whole lot more choices for the components you might want to use in BBC engine, parts.
start pricing out
BLOCKS,
ROTATING ASSEMBLY'S,
HEADS,
VALVE TRAINS,
INDUCTION,
OIL SYSTEM COMPONENTS,
and you'll soon see the difference

There is with out a doubt. I was just saying that cause that would ultimately keep the theme there as if it came from the factory like most well done custom build cars try to accomplish. It is only what I would like to see if I came wandering up on it at a show.

Ahh I tell you I miss the age old discussions between you two as you both are die hard. Brian asked I post this and you may delete if you wish. But I wish to stir no pot.

"POST ON THAT THREAD ...I AM OK AND DOING FINE.
NO HARD FEELINGS.
THIS BIRD LEFT THE NEST.
AND YOU DON'T HAVE TO INSTALL A BIG BLOCK CHEVY INTO EVERYTHING WITH 4 -WHEELS ON IT.
PONTIAC V8 & SBC STILL VERY GOOD."

obviously anyone building a combo car like that would have the choice too use either a pontiac or chevy engine or,
even a totally different engine, like a mopar, caddy or ford, after all its THEIR CAR and their choice.
while ID agree that the car that looks like a custom GTO/el camino compound clone would be expected to have
either the EL CAMINO or GTO engine, there's certainly no law demanding you select anything in particular,
brand loyalty, in my opinion may be nice and keeping things consistent makes a lot of sense but its hardly mandatory,
and Id certainly not feel like it was totally out of line to install a 500 Caddy or a 426 hemi in a similar car!
personally I like too see ingenuity and installing something a bit unique like a 500 caddy would simply make it a bit more interesting

I agree grumpy best part of the skills we set our selfs up with is the ability to allow our personality and preferences shine through.

Wow. It's my first time to see a rig with massive tires on the rear only. Wondering about the speed of that truck.

Seen something like that at Syracuse nationals will be going again this year. So many vendors it is nice to go look at potential parts in person and talk with the vendors.
