Hello from new member

you may be amazed at what some careful disassembly, cleaning, hand sanding or in a few cases, sand blasting and repainting, will do to make a great many parts look fairly new.

Cheomebumpers! Thank you, and I didn't mean to ignore you. I'm new to these forums, this is the first time I've entered one actually. I'm looking for a hood, front bumper, headlight bucket assemblies with bezels, another speedometer, and a 2bbl air breather. I'm not looking to spend a ton, as I haven't decided if I can restore this one yet. For now I'm just collecting parts as I find them, and gathering as much information as I can about this awesome car. I was off today and was in Carlsbad NM, scouting old parts. There's a lot laying around out there! I didn't run onto any 59 ponchos though.... thanks again y'all! And again, any help is appreciated!

Hi every time I can't find old Pontiac parts there is one place that always responds in Arizona. I have to look for their name and address. What shape is the hood, bumper and so on? Chrome shops can fix anything and there are gauge restoration shops that turn out fantastic work! Any pictures?

Thank you chrome bumpers for your reply! The hood is straight, but has cancer in various sp9ts. The front bumper, turnsignals, headlight buckets, air breather, generator, and drivers side inner door handle linkage are missing. I work alot, so posting pictures is hard for me. I will try tho! Thanks again all!

Steve, every part except for the hood is available at one of the bone yards near me. The owner wants a kings ransome for the parts, front bumper (straight) $2750. I would keep looking for the time being.
How are you for MIG or TIG welding? If the hood is straight and the cancer is in manageable areas you can replace these spots easily. Rent or buy an English or plenishing hammer to make curved sheet metal or you can hammer a curve using a mallet and a sand bag. I can walk you through doing everything with professional results, or you can watch and learn from hundreds of YouTube videos - if you have the mindset to apply yourself. You could get the tools for the price of a good hood or the professional labor to fix your old one.
When you get some time please send photos of your hood so the rust spots can be evaluated. It would be great if your hood is clean of all paint and primer so there won't be much rust to hide.
