some of the first videos Ive seen on an old but useful & valid tech.

worth watching

early chaparral cars used an adjustable angle air foil,
later cars allowed the driver to adjust the pitch angle, and down force,
even later versions used air foils that sensed down force and drag and self adjusted, or just used air pressure or vacuum, controls
the most modern version use that tech plus GPS so the car can anticipate the requirements of the terrain ahead,
this of course can result in cars with much more traction,
great braking and handling, but also means some race car associations ban the use as it makes cars not equipped with the required similar intelligent,
air foil tech non-competitive.

some old saying's in racing

"INNOVATE OR LOSE!"

"last seasons high tech, is todays standard equipment"

" racing costs money, how fast do you want to go!"

"If your not pushing the rules limits, hard,
your probable watching the other guys tail lights"

"if your in total control your not going nearly fast enough"

"you don,t race cars! you race the rule book!"

"theres only two types of racers....cheaters and losers"

These wings on the street I deem useless Grumpy because once broken off the dependent reliance on it is gone.
Laying in the road & car is still moving.

Entire area on your forum lacking....Race car put on the street.
Not going to stop.
Being built.
Numbers of guys on Facebook doing it has to be well over 10K my estimation.

While I would agree that the wings and spoilers on street cars are more decoration than functional, as most have very little effect at under 80-100 mpr,
properly built and properly installed air foils don,t just break or pop off, spoilers and wings do gain you a huge advantage in some areas ,
and its very easy to prove, especially with adjustable or better yet sensor activated and hydraulically controlled air foils
in noticeably faster lap times and much shorter high speed braking distances

Never pull it off without alot of track testing & real closed wind tunnel testing.

Where are the tires needed to handle all this power?
That is a good question.
I can just say right now Mickey Thompson Drag radial tires from my own experience on my 70TA & watching others, mainly the Ford 5.0 Racers in past.
Drag Slicks.

Contiential brand tires on Corvettes seem to be falling short what is needed.
If you have been following on DC helping Autowiz trying to get a Supercharged C5 Corvette into the 10's 1/4 mile the 20 inch rim Continetials are not working.
At 11.5 or 11.6 present.
Needs better tires. More HP.
Mph trap speed there for solid axle steel bodied musclecar to do 10's.
Driver not that skilled. 1.9 second 60 foot times.
4L60E auto can blow anytime, on ragged edge now.

The way I see it present to have a name successful business in the performance world you need a Hero Race Car for your own shop or the Bosses.
None at work for Wiz present.
They just never specialized in Drag Race.

Really think Pro Tour Died.

I like Road Race action too.
Have to be real rich wealthy to do that in the midwest here.
