Let’s track down a vibration

Thanks !!!! Good information

Btw, I found this pic... fuzzy but, does it look like the ring slipped back. I’m kicking myself for not inspecting while it was out

If it moved and slipped the outer inertia ring its a Time bomb waiting to go off.
Racing parts are not always a good match on a daily driver because they do not adhere to GM Blueprint specs original.
So working out bugs like alignment issues can be a problem.
You way out of the USA being in Belgium so you must research.

Well, I got a closer look at the vibration damper and... it looks in good shape.

However... the transmission mount is completely and utterly shot ! With little effort I can lift the trans off the mount and see the bolts through the torn rubber.

I think we found our problem. The motor mounts look fine, but if I am going to replace one... might as well replace them all...

Out of curiosity, what are the typical symptoms of a worn/ripped trans mount?

yes you may have found your vibration, issue,
typically the engine transmission , will jump or move physically , very noticeably at idle shifting from forward to reverse,a clunk when shifting,
hard shifts,difficult shifts,whining drive train,noise
odd vibrations (like you have described) , occasionally, and /or car wants to wander on a strait level road like it out of alignment

I am looking FW to fixing this problem... and that pesky oil pan leak !!!!! Then we can start getting down to the real business...

its not that difficult to remove the oil pan, replace the gasket with a new one piece synthetic one and cure that leak,
most guys can do that in a single afternoon with the car up on 4 12 ton jack stands rather easily.
be aware that the crank counter weights rotated to the correct location makes removing the oil pan a bit easier.
it might be a great opportunity to swap to a higher capacity baffled oil pan.

theres lots of 8" and 8.25" deep corvette oil pans but they don,t last too long with speed bumps and raised manhole cover rims

Stay away from 2 piece steel covers - they leak.
I'm forced to point out that proper installation and use of the proper sealants effects results, if you use the typical yellow 3m weather strip adhesive I see lots of guys use its sure to leak over time.

I wish both dorianL and RICK were local,
theres just so many things Id love to jump on and help out,
I have the lift and tools and a great deal of related experience in diagnose and repairs and mods,
and both of the guys have obvious skills that I either lack or have not really perfected.
