some delivery people are morons

because Im frequently helping build or repair or modify people cars, and because Im home 98% of the time as Im retired, guys frequently have parts shipped directly here,
I especially like it when they leave $2000 worth of parts leaning on my fence outside the gate or in the driveway, or on the lawn, just inside the gate, and post that sticker on the door or on the OPEN GATE that says left in driveway, my front gates 190 ft from my house, and anyone driving by could simply pick the packages up and leave, if I don,t see the delivery truck, now I know almost for sure he gets to my block at a certain time range so I know to look if Im expecting parts but gee theres some dumb guys delivering expensive parts!.
Ill never forget finding 4 new corvette tires and wheels sitting in my drive just inside the open gate
or a new corvette hood leaning on the front fence and when I called they acted like..."hey you got your stuff whats the problem?"
am I the only guy that seems to have a delivery driver thats lets say less than careful?

What kind of shipping is that?
When i get shipped to my door they ring my doorbell otherwise they will try again another day(after 3 try they return or leave it at post office depend upon carrier) They never ever let any package or shipment outside(anyway i would be really dissapointed to see my parts box leaning on snow at -20°C or the summer if it happen to rain?)

Anyway when i order parts am always there to answer before they can ring the doorbell, dont know why ... :p .

Ive had UPS do it and IVE had independent shippers do it also, I guess they figure Im out in the sticks on a dead end street, and theres little chance of anyone but me seeing it on my 5 acres, everyone has either 5-10-20 acre lots on my street so theres not a huge traffic problem

Most of the time UPS just knocks on the door and runs. Fedex sometimes won't leave it unless they get a signature. Today the US Post Office left my Extech 42545 IR Gun on the porch.

I bought mine years ago thinking it might be useful for locating problems and tuning the car, its proven to be very useful for isolating problems also

I'm surprised that we don't see more of the delivery truck on the news with them in accidents. Every time I see a UPS truck, it's pedal to the metal, they must get paid by the number of packages they deliver.

When I worked for Kodak I would spend 3 or 4 hours repairing a 16 mm sound movie projector only to see the UPS guy toss it in the back of the truck! Never got one back so I guess it was OK.

More than once I was temped to have a very large and official looking sticker made

Hey, those parts are heavy - and it's a long walk up your driveway.
Millennials, gotta love them and their "gold star for everyone" attitudes.;)

I have seen YouTube videos of rigged boxes for Porch Pirates getting what they deserve. Funniest was a guy that put what looked loose shit with smelly mix that was launched with an airbag when opened! They got about 3 houses down the road when it went off! Everybody came out of the car like it was on fire!
