Jack,(one of my neighbors) bought a 2014 Chrysler 300C and wants me to do an oil change,on his new hemi powered toy, BTW the correct oil filter # is wix 551087, some stores list is as #1087) and the engines supposed to take six quarts of 5w20 synthetic from what the fill cap and tag on the engine says I would like to know where to place the lift arm support pads under the car and he says the car did not come with an owners manual , so I'm trying to find a diagram indicating the jack placement locations, anyone have experience?

Look for the reinforced front and rear torque boxes that tie into the frame rails Grumpy.
Put the wifes makeup mirror on the ground. See them easily.
Save your back too.

thanks, yeah! thats usually a great suggestion, tried that, there location is not obvious, and I don,t want to damage the car
what I need to find is something like this for the exact year and model car

Driving now so have to post short.
300C is a heavy car. 4000-4500 pounds.
On rocker pinch welds wrong.
Framerails subframe Torque boxes OK.

Where has Phil been Grumpy ?

youll eventually find you need to reset the OIL CHANGE DUE , flashing message on the dash so heres a link showing the proceedure

(1) don,t touch the brake or throttle petals, (don,t start the car)
(2) touch the start button TWICE
(3) fully depress and release the gas pedal three times in under 8 seconds
(4) touch the start button once

(5) now start the car and the oil change reminder message should have vanished
if not you screwed up and need to repeat the process, to clear it from memory

BTW the head lights stay on after the cars ignition is turned off for about 90 seconds
Page 94 in the manual. with the head light control switch on the dash set to AUTO

-Turn off ignition switch while the headlights are still on.
-Then turn off headlights within 45 seconds.
-The 90 second delay begins when headlights are turned off.
-If the headlights/park lights are turned back on or the ignition switch is turned back on, the delay will be cancelled.
-If the headlights are turned off before the ignition,

they will turn off in the normal manner.
Note: The headlights must be turned off within 45 seconds of turning the ignition off to activate this feature.

This is how to turn it ON. Not sure if it turns it OFF. Hope it helps.

I took a long ride in my neighbors Chrysler 300c, this morning, he has a car with the new 350 hemi and an auto transmission and the car runs very well for what it is, but the basic radio that came in that car leaves a great deal to be desired, and speakers leave a great deal to be desired also, in sound quality, I had on a 1950s oldies station and the sound quality was bad enough that even I noticed, when even the "beach boys " and "ELVIS" sound like crap, you know its bad , now this is way out of my area of expertise so I,m just asking whats the approximate cost to upgrade to a decent radio and if required speakers ?
I don,t think he wants loud, just clear crisp tone quality at conversation level sound

some times the simple stuff makes is frustrating to work on cars.
when the ABS warning light came on the cruise control ceased to function,
absw.png

this was traced to a defective wheel sensor with a code reader.
that indicated which of the four wheel sensors was defective.

my neighbor ordered the wheel sensor, the diagnostic software indicated was defective, to replace the defective one.
this would normally be a very easy job,but the electrical connector on the abs wheel sensor was a REAL P.I.T.A. to get loose!
some previous dim wit had used some glue to make sure the connector stayed together.
most of these connectors have a plastic wedge you back out and a catch thats lifted up over a clip lock, this connector was previously damaged so some one in the past at a dealership he bought it from used glue.

I have a new updated book put out by Mohawk for their 2 post lifts.
It simply shows lift points on the inner rails behind the front and rear frame to body mounting bolts. For the 2014 and 2015 300 series. 2016 to 2018 show lift points right on the frame curve (on the flat spots) closest to the wheels.

I don,t know about you guys, but I get a sense of satisfaction when I find, diagnose and, when required, replace the parts that are proven defective, curing the issue.
borrowing or owning the code reader and multi-meter, and a shop manual, for the cars you work on, to do so helps immensely.
obviously it also helps to have a good understanding of how all the cars sub-systems work, and how to test those that don,t
