Refresh 1982 crossfire vette

Hi, guys what do I do with the e.g.r.part of the Renegade manifold, when the Blueprint heads have no e.g.r. port? thanks

Hi, gang I'm trying to start this engine, its backfiring thru the throttle bodies, I checked the stark plug wiring it looks correct, got any ideas?? thanks

Or the rotor is 180 degrees off.
yes thats a valid concern if it was not checked correctly.

thanks all, i did align the marks, but i did put new parts in the distributor could I have screwed up the alignment of the trigger and the shaft?? thanks

Hi, guys I read the thread from Kane and I wonder if its better getting a manifold and something like a FiTech fuel injection system, or going like Kane and boring the T.B. to 1.95", then I may be able to get rid of the ECM that's causing problems? thanks

It depends upon your budget and wants.
The Modern Holley EFI Throttle body is nice.
I think its better than FI Tech.
FI Tech has been more popular and Tuners more familar.
The FI Tech Fuel command center is garbage.

Accel DFI Is best or Electomotive.
Both Port injection.

I fixed a Factory reject Renegade intake for a friend in the Corvette world .
A Machinist friend and me both corrected.
All holes had to be Tig Welded shut.
Rebored and drilled.
Was Junk day 1 new.
Good now.
Casted in China and machined in China.
Design is ok.

Guys this is from Kane's thread in August

Over the years, I have been able to get the 0-60mph time down to 5 seconds flat. Here was the set up that got me to 5 seconds-
  • TBs bored to 1.95"
  • 454 truck injectors (PN# 5235231)
  • GM Marine TBI pressure regulator modded into a VAFPR
  • TPI fuel pump
  • DCS Renegade intake
  • Erson .465" / .488" cam 224/234 @.05 with 112 LC
  • Built 700R4 with the governor set to 5.4k rpm shifts
  • 2k rpm stall
  • 3.73 gears
  • Dynamic EFI EBL with wideband O2 integrated into an ADC port
  • Added an IAT & upgraded to a 1990 Caprice 350 engine code N knock sensor
  • Hooker headers
  • True duals
  • Magnaflows
  • Eliminated the trap door on the fresh air chamber & plugged the heat riser snorkel- set up to breath exclusively through the fresh air chamber (similar to using a ram air set up like on the LS1 Fbodies).
My 82 have some of this stuff, but what is better doing the first 4 bullets and the EBL , or getting a FiTech or Holley Sniper to get 0 to 60 in the 5 second range???

Write out your goals on paper.
Then write down a number you can actually afford.
Add up.
Reality or not known.

I'm having issues with the idle of the engine at a light I need a foot on the break and one on the gas so it will not stall, other wise the the car runs good not as fast as i'd like . Most mechanics in my neck of the wood do not want any thing to do the the Crossfire system of even know how, so it may be less expensive to go with the ,sniper or FiTech system because its self leaning and if I have any issues most mech's can work on this equipment.
I want the car to be quick and reliable and right now its not so much.. thanks

I myself would use a Sniper EFI by Holley.

EFI as I see it is not necessary unless Twin Turbo Charged and Power goals are 800 -4000 hp.

Just so expensive and Hp and Torque results if any improvement costs hundreds per that extra 5-10 hp.
Carburetor my personal picks on my own.
Except my 87 Corvette Tuned Port.
Did the math in the past.
Not worth doing anything to it.
When ready pull it all.
Garbage dumpster if no one wants it.

Dealing with technology EFI going on 40 years old.

Carburetor proven to work better.
800 cfm SD455 Q-jet.
Holley 4150 Double pumper or 4150 Street Avenger.
