Question about Monroe shocks

Are Monroe Gas-Matic shocks equivalent or any better than the factory shocks on an early C3 small block ( mentioned for weight - if it matters any)?

Digging through my inventory I found a set of 4 brand new shocks in the box, I must have had something in mind when I bought them.

Ive used them , on several occasions , I would point out that theres a couple different part numbers or versions,
but if your running O.E.M. shocks or their equivalent of un-known mileage and age ,
swapping to new shocks is almost certainly going to result in improved handling

Thanks for confirming what I thought about “anything’s an improvement over unknown old shocks”

I remember ordering these shocks from Advance Auto for the vette. It had to be 4 or 5 years ago.
