I bought 4 used Steel Office filing cabinets yesterday for $10 each.
Picked up and brought them home with the Chevy Tahoe & my open car trailer.
The Brown one & Green One I gave to the wife.
The Gray & Black are in my basement now.
The Beige one I filled up with lots of odds & ends.
They hold a ton of car parts each !!!

The cabinits are nice to have.... but that Magnito in the one drawer would look alot better on my motor than hidden in a drawer!:D

I have 3 Chevy Vertex Mags.
That one I have not gone through yet rebuilt.
It's real old. Somewhere 1964-1966 vintage. Tar wire secondary lead to cap.
Got it pretty cheep. About $125 as is.
It sparks works.

2 Pontiac V8 Vertex mags.
1 single drive base Pontiac V8. Build out of a Chevy core or Hemi core....most common to find used.

1 Olds V8 Vertex magneto on the 63 Gp.

I organized all the Trans Am New Engine parts into those 2 other 4 drawer filing cabinets today.
My workshop is cleaned up.
No more cardboard boxes all over and trying to find parts.
Pull open the Drawers and they are all there !
Just Awesome.

I uncovered a Torker Single plane Intake I bought and Put away back about 2013.
I forgot the last guy plumbed for Nitrous Oxide.
2 stealth Spray bars Hid.
250 + shot.
Have to get pics. Really Cool.
Will fit the Functional TA shaker scoop.

Found my Super Duty 455 Trans Am oil pan.
Was looking for it and could not find.
It was buried in boxes.
Sell for $750 ! To the restoration guys.
Special oil pan Pontiac used.

looks very organized Brian.
That was a clever idea to repurpose those cabnits.
I have the same problem: Buy something and put it away for a later date only
to discover that I either could not find it, or forgot that I even purchased it.
I have quite a few duplicates of smaller stuff lying around in un opened packages

I am going to get more of those Filing cabinets. At least 4-6 more.
More parts for SBC & Pontiac V8 To store away nice and have a TON of old car magazines since 1980s.
A couple of Pontiac Guys like me have built engines in thier basement like I am going to do.
Showed me how they got them out on Facebook.

HAHAHA.... That just brought back a memory!

I met my wife in highschool and we dated for quite sometime before we got married.
After school was finished, I had gotten myself an apartment.
Alesia still stayed with her parents. She would constantly be at my apartment or wherever I was in the daytime.
I look back on those days and am proud that she never once spent the night at my apartment until the day we married!
Well, I had kept my apartment organized and had been an avid collector of Hotrod, and Carcraft Magazines...
There was a wealth of information that I learned from those mag's.
I musta had well over 200 mag's neatly stacked on my bookshelf.

I'll be Damned if it wasn't the first day she moved into the apartment after we married, I had came home from work and she had rearranged the entire
apartment! Ok... it did look like a couple lived there now instead of a single guy. lol
Well, I sat down that night in my favorite "garage sale recliner" that I think I bought for $5 (what can I say.. It was my first chair!)
and went to grab a magazine that had an article I had been thinking about that day.
It was then that I noticed my magazine collection was relocated.?

I asked Alesia where she moved the to, and she replied.... "THE DUMPSTER OUTSIDE the complex"
She said she never ever seen me read them and that they where an ugly sight just stacked up on the shelf!

I ran out to the dumpster but it had already been emptied!!!!!!
I went back in the apartment and told her that I made a mistake and that I was going to give her back to her Mother!!!
No one in their right mind would throw out a magazine collection!

That was 35 years ago,.... and she still relocates my stuff! o_O
I can't imagine life without her though!:cool::)

People said that when I was Younger and rented apartment single, stop by to visit said I had an Auto Repair shop upstairs.
Last 455 I built upstairs.
Bob and me carried it downstairs with the cylinder heads off.
I recall it was heavy. 400+ lbs down 30 steps.

Growing up a farmboy did have it's perks..
I did not have alot of money when I was young , and I could not afford a cherry picker.
So I pulled the intake and heads off my 327cu. that was in a 1970 chevy malibu and after I removed the trans,
I straddled the motor and lifted it up onto the center support, and had my buddy balance it till I climbed out of the engine bay.
Then I grabbed the motor and set it down on the ground.
Yea... they where heavy! LOL
