What Are These Dots For?

I'm wanting to mount a transmission temperature gauge on the windshield like a rear
view mirror. Using this SpeedHut mount, which is made of aluminum. Since the base is
anodized, figured it would be better to sand it smooth and remove the surface treatment
for the adhesive to bond better. This seemed like a nice way to mount the gauge, but
not have to make any holes in the dash.

Will probably use this 2-5/8 inch gauge.

Before I mount this bracket, I wanted to know what these dots are for since the base will
be located over these dots. They go completely around the windshield.

Any ideas ???

they also act as a partial sun visor to reduce glare

If you are talking about the 8 dots around the 2 holes, then they show the center of each hole vertically and horizontally depicted in the drawing.

My bad if you were talking about the windshield.

Thanks Grumpy, looks like I'm free to install the gauge there if it fits between the sun visor and
the rear view mirror.

I just didn't have time to install a gauge, change the trans filter and fluid all before I left for the NTBA
nationals. I do have another event coming up in September, so I starting now to get ready.

My bad if you were talking about the windshield.

T-Test,
Yes ..... you have been a bad boy again! I was really asking about the hundreds of black dots that go
completely around the windshield.
