1963 Grand Prix

That GP was a featured car in the Pontiac High Performance and Hot Rod mags. I guess that’s what drives up the price when there’s a buyer with a big ego to fill.
It’s funny but for the most part I don’t see the big collector car auctions going up like the rest of the world for used cars. There are some cars that have been laggers in their prices and now they are rising fast. For instance take C3 Corvettes. 2 years ago a clean, straight base chrome bumper ‘vette was low $20’s while the ‘75 through ‘79s when clean, straight and pretty would be $10K to $15K. Now a clean, straight and pretty 68 to 72 is common in the high $20K to mid $30’s. It’s about time those cars started to move, they sat at the same prices for the past 6 to 9 years. You see it with models that have been around forever - when the newest and greatest is now over $100,000 and climbing, spending 1/5th for a classic of the same model is now a steal! To prove my point look at Pick up trucks, VW Beetles, the reintroduction of Camaros, the Ford Scouts, Broncos - I bet I could name 10 models that made come-backs and made their older generations more desirable and through the roof to obtain.

Rich.. do you do adoptions? Cause I’m available and don’t mind going back to school! .

Vintage 4x4 Trucks are highly prized wanted out West.
Especially Arizona.
Time away I made friends with alot on the West coast online.
That EV electric push get rid of all gasoline and diesel engines.
What got me motivated to build a True High Powered pump gas 455 Pontiac I could drive anywhere.
I want to set it up to run 100%E85.
It's close, have to buy the Purpose built E85 Carburetor. My Choice is BLP BoLaws in Orlando Florida near Grumpy.
Outstanding service. Fair prices.
100%USA. THEY BUILD ALL IN HOUSE BY HAND.
Used Grumps site to upgrade the Fuel system on Gp this past summer.
Archives data AND math invaluable I used it.

Wow. That was similar to the same conversation my employer and I were having today. I had made mention of the rising costs of newer used cars would eventually force people to start looking at the older vehicles. Not sure if it is because I am getting older but I have been seeing more and more of the older cars and engines on the road today. Not show cars but just a daily driver.

I was thinking in the other direction - I’m aiming to thin this heard down, I could easily live by myself and be happy about it! I can’t talk to the kids, they have become too belligerent and totally disrespectful and the wife is never happy about anything I say or do.

Need a Great Escape Machine ready and running.
Corvette.
Pontiac.
My 2 Favorite choices.
I hear no one foot on the gas pedal down

Not that I have any interest in them but I know where to find 2 - 1972 Corvettes for sale an hour north of me. No real money needed, a couple newlyweds bought their family’s estate from the court’s trustee. They called me to validate some furniture and art work, clean a tobacco stained painting and I noticed 2 Corvettes in a pole building out back. One is a LT-1, it has AC - the other a base, low optioned car. Someone can get both for $12,000 cash if paid right now with 30 days to transport away.
Posting pictures when my phone is done charging.

I was talking to someone I’ve known for a while. He’s got a dirt cheap 87 Corvette maybe an 88. He says it’s a rare 2 + 3 and some other feature I wasn’t paying attention. I had feelers out there for a late 80s Corvette for parts, he wants $2,500 and it’s about 45 minutes from me. I need the belts, the blower and suspension and brakes for that car, dump the rest.

Be Careful with the C4 4+3 manual trans Vette.
Parts are unobtainable to repair the Doug Nash Overdrive unit.
Was state of the art and did work nice new.
Become another project unable to complete.
Modern Tremec 5-speed overdrive a good replacement. Have to sink $4000 or more to complete the swap.
Custom fabrication work also.

They drive so nice a C4 Vette.
Hard to describe.
Not easy to get in and out of like C3 & newer Vettes.
Feels like no other Vette driving.
To me an American Lotus.

The Chevrolet V8 350 Tuned port if taken care of is absolutely bullet proof.
Not most powerful today, moves out respectable.
So reliable I put against the Super Duty 455 Trans Am, of Course the SD455 win The drag race easy.
Power to beat the 426 Hemi 'Cuda.

That’s what it was , a 4 plus 3, I screwed that up. I never got near a any C4 yet. I like the hood that flips over, I almost went on a call a few years ago for a a great deal on a ZL-1 for , $17,500 for a 19,000 mile survivor, someone was told I bought it and I was contacted by a buyer offering $25,000 cash 2 days later.
