Yes, I'm doing that now with another topic.
Sorry I stepped on your topic. I posted it here because it was already
mentioned above, but this was the end of it.

No I haven't Grumpy.
I am a Dual Plane Intake fan on the Street.
I am 100% satisfied with my Olds 425 & 455 Offenhauser Daul Port 180 Intake Manifold.
I jumped on it leaving the gas station parking lot this morning.
The '63 GP Shot ahead like a 44 Mag Bullet.
Then I passed all on the Highway with Ease.

Tonight I was watching The Vacuum Guage on the Grand Prix Console close Grumpy.
Most of the Time Cruising steady on flat roads I have 17-22 inches of Vacuum 45-73 mph.
Used my Garmin to watch MPH.
Going up a long 2-1/2 mile hill no curves at all I floored the 425.
I seen 1/2 " inch of Vacuum.
There is a passing lane & I Zoomed by everyone . I hit over 100 .

I then switched vehicles to get the kids from Daycare.
The Wifees Honda CRV.
I had it floored and it felt like I was going nowhere.
Looked down & was doing 90.
Still felt real slow the Honda.

The '63 Grand Prix has Brutal Torque .

The Grand Prix handles better than the Honda too by Far.

I was cruising to work this morning Grumpy at 76-80 mph.
I noted 22 " inches of Intake manifold vacuum on the GP factory vacuum guage.
Engine is not working real hard.

I have a new Autometer Tachometer put away made just for Vertex OAC Magnetos.
Will Install soon.

Day off today Grumpy.
I am wanting to replace the Valvestem seals today on the 425.
They are calling for Rain.
Spotty showers and Heavy Thunderstorms in the afternoon .
See if I can get it done.
Have about 450 miles total on the 425 since I brought it back to life.

I completed the Valvestem seal replacement Intake & Exhaust on the 425 Olds yesterday Grumpy.
No more Puff of smoke on startup.
No more oil buring after hard acceleration and then letting off the gas immediately .
I used Fel Pro Olds V8 Valvestem seal set.
While I was in there I checked all Valvesprings with my Rimac Bench Spring Tester for Factory Seat Pressure & Open pressure at .500" Valve Lift.
I checked my Installed heights with my Valvespring Micrometer.
I made my own adjustments with ISKY Hardened valvespring shims tp obtain seat Pressures I wanted.
Checked for Valvespring coil bind and A-Ok.
I tried using my Crower Enduro Stainless Rockers arms 1.6:1 Full Rollers.
Forgot they are 7/16" stud mounts.
My 425 A Olds has 3/8"-24 Top & 3/8"-16 Rocker studs.
The Factory Olds Rocker Studs didn't like my MOROSO Stud Mount On the Head Vehicle Valvespring compressor.
A few got Tweaked.
But I Bought those Special Dodge Viper V10 Rocker Arm Studs last year made by Crane Cams. Same Specs as my 425 A engine but no Bottle neck shoulder stop.
And Longer length. For Roller Rocker install on Dodge Viper V10.
I installed the Crane Rocker Studs.
4140 Chrome Moly Steel Rolled threads.
Much stronger.
I made the Olds 425 engine Fully Adjustable Valvetrain like A Pontiac Ram Air 4 engine and most SBC & BBC.
I had a Vintage set of Pioneer S1010 Poly Locks Put away. 3/8"-24 TPI.
They were too long so I cut down each carefully 3/8" inch shorter.
Used my Cordless Milwaukee M18 Grinder with an ultra thin cutoff wheel..Rolled each slowly precise till Flat.
Like Blanchard Grinding.
Test Fitted each Poly Lock. Allen set screw near the Top & 3/4" inch thread engagements with the Studs.
I used My New Isky Cams 4140 Chrome Molly Steel 7 Degree Retainers.
And My New Isky 7 degree Billet Steel Valve locks. Superior to any GM Hardware .
I set each Valve lifter with .041" preload.
1 full turn down.
Olds Engine Fired right up.
Drove Smooth.
I finished working at 2:45 Am.
Slept till 5:55 AM.
Got up and worked a Full Day at my Diesel Mechanic Job.
Pulling out a Blown up CUMMINS ISX Engine in a Semi Truck today.
Working Like an Animal Grumpy.
But I am almost Super Human.
Most of the Time.

I tested my Workmanship ....I hit 108 mph with Ease.
Smooth Ultra Whallop Torque on Tap.
HP is Nice too.
No oil smoke.
All oil consumption ceased too.

Also I used the Rope Trick.
No Air Compressor.
Works excellent Grumpy.

I started taking pictures but I realized I didn't have time to do the Tasks & Photograph too.
I just worked Non Stop till I was done early this Morning.

I am replacing Valvestem Seals on My 1994 K1500 Suburban Sunday.
No air compressor.
I will use the Rope Method again.

You did a lot! My back hurts just thinking about leaning in long enough to replace all the seals, check pressures etc.

Will you ever check what the hp and tq numbers are on the beast you've made?

I have a list of things today. For the Duramax LBZ, Change out front wheel bearings w/abs sensors and inner tie rod, new fuel filter, replace 3 faulty glow plugs. The only thing I haven't done yet is the glow plugs, got OBD codes for #3,4 & 7. Then do a comprehensive tune up on my LQ4 5.3 to hopefully stop that shutter/vibration that occurs on light acceleration at 46 to 51 mph. If during this vibration period I floor it the vibration stops or does happen upon wot.
Nearly 80,000 miles on this otherwise fantastic running motor.

No Chassis Dynos around here Richard .
I don't Really like them.
The Race shop I worked at In Chicago last year had the AWD Mustang Dyno.
Grossly inaccurate at times.
Just usefull for EFI tuning I think.

Drag Race on the Street and Drag Strip Still the Best Way to Test Performance .

Chassis Dynos can be 40 HP Low reading.
Most Change settings in Software .
Give another 100-150 HP That is NOT really there.
So You think you can Dust A Hellcat .
But The Hellcats Still Blow your Doors Off Richard .

The Other Way is to do A Burnout from A Dead Stop Richard.
Mash the Gas Pedal.
Or if a Stick Dump the Clutch.
Real Good Torque & HP will burn off the tires with ease.
660 Feet long Twin Strips to full 1/4 mile.

So You think you can Dust A Hellcat .
But The Hellcats Still Blow your Doors Off Richard .
You had to know this was coming..... I just watched Street Outlaws OKC. AZN 1/8 mile raced a Hellcat.
Drug the Hellcat's ass. Very embarassing. And they said the driver of the Hellcat could drive.
HELLCAT BEATEN BADLY BY A DUNG BEETLE! $80,000 FACTORY RACE CAR - NOT!

Lol Mike.
There is a You Tube Video of a 1964 Ford Thunderbolt 427 High Riser Factory Lightweight Racing a Hellcat.
Hellcat Lost to the Thunderbolt.
Thunderbolt is Faster than 426 Hemi.
Only The Melrose Missle & Arnie Beswicks SD421 Race cars were Faster back in the Day.

I was at Menards after work tonight.
Drove in with my 1963 Grand Prix.
I spotted a Graphite Black C7 Corvette.
Got closer & it was a Convertible Roadster.
Then I spotted Z06 Badges.
I don't know how...Every ZO6 C7 Talked about are Coupe hardtops.
I have a thing for Corvette Roadsters.
Because my old 1987 C4 Vette is a Roadster.
They are awesome to drive with the Top down on a Summer & Fall Nights.
