I cleaned all of the 1971 GTO 455 #2 except for the block.
All cold chemical dipped.
Hot Jet Powered Cabinet washed .
40-Gallon capacity Ultra Sonic cleaned.
Glass beaded cleaned.
Tumbled polished a few parts to make OEM New.
I cleaned a 1957 Pontiac 9.3 Drop out 3rd member Hogshead Friday.
Nasty dirty greasy with 58 years of crud scum.
Came ot spotless clean.
Made my Summit Racing order last night.
Goodies.
Clean a Pontiac Offenhauser intake & an Oldsmobile Offenhauser 425ci-455-400ci intake Monday.
Just Sonic clean them.
I cleaned all of the 1971 GTO 455 #2 except for the block.

My 1970 455 #1 shown above in 1st two pictures. From a 1970 Bonneville Convertible.
Rated 360 Hp & 500 ft/lbs . 10.25:1 static compression ratio. Real mild 067 cam factory installed.
Bought it back in 2007, 8 years ago now. Drove to Western Iowa, almost near Nebraska in the dead of winter & brought it home.
When it warms up I am going to tear it down & build it too.

They make tremendous low end & midrange torque on 87 octane pee water gasoline.
Hold up to severe abuse.
Inexpensive to budget build.
Headers not really needed. Can use factory exhauat manifolds and still responsive.
They pull 2.41:1- 3.23:1 gears with ease.

Gobs of streetable torque 185 hp but 385 tq think were factory numbers on the TA 403 olds

39 degree lifter bank angle used come 1967.
Made a mild cam appear bigger than it really was.
Still delivered nice idle.
403 Trans Am was faster than all but 455's.
Disco era.
1971-79.
Only you and me know this John.
Built and driven both.

1975 455 engine has thinner main webs like 1976 455.
General concensious among long time Poncho guys is 500-550 safe HP levels with those blocks.
1970-71 455's like I have, the 3 of them good for 800 HP without Hardblocking.
6H heads used 1975-76 455 had huge volume combustion chambers. 124-128 cc.
7.6:1 static compression raio. Did that so engines would run on 87 octane safe forever.
Killed HP though.
Have a set of those 6H 455 heads. Need to clean up this year.
Smog era Pontiac heads getting hard to find now also.

I Ultrasonic Cleaned my 1970 RAM AIR 4 "614" Heads today & Crower pushrods, Crower Enduro Stainless Rocker arms & Titanium valves.
Been cleaning all.
Couple of more engines to clean up.

1970 Trans Am & 63 Grand Prix both back & burning rubber street racing.
Couple of side jobs going now. $$$.
Race work should start again for me in Joliet. 5.0 Mustang guys.

I found the Canton Remote Oil Filter adapter block for Pontiac V8's Grumpy.

What is available for Dual Oil Filter remote kits ?
I want Parallel oil flow.
More oil is flowing by the Pontiac V8 oil pump than SBC.
About on par with BBC.
12-13 Gallons per minute stock
18-19 gallons per minute Butler Blueprint Pro.
Or I want Top Fuel Dragster style single Huge large oil filter.
Have lots of free room in T/A Engine bay.
No electronics.
Just the VERTEX AC Output Magneto.
Full Race Grumpy.
Not slow and lose against Hellcats.

At 4,000 Rpms Engine oil is always unfiltered .
Bypass valve Fully open.
Many block off the bypass valve. Myself included.
Use K& N HP 2003.

Since the T/A has always been RACE Not going to worry about 5 micron dirt.
Stupid Shit to me.
Want an oil system that can flow 20-30 gallons per minute.
Hold 100-150 psi without failure .

Using the Butler Pro Oil pump M54F & M54D, 80psi & 60psi that both flow 18-19 gallons per minute with stock oil filtration and oil filter adapter bypass intact or blocked not a good move my conclusion tonight Grumpy.
No convential off the shelf oil filter exists to keep flowing freely at large volume rates.
Use what has worked for me in the past.
Or plumb custom remote oil filter layout
