Looks like a Fun project !
Has a solid front axle & 4x4 with manual lockout hubs. Old School Tough.
Might as well go 454 BBC gas is cheep again.

You have the Turbo 400 Transmission or the Turbo 350 ?

The early Turbo 400's 4x4 version are Rare hard to find now.

Bought everything to do a Turbo 400 swap 4x4 into my 1994 GMC Suburban.
Come spring I am going to get it done.
4L60E died & I don't want to build another so I bought a 1979 Chevy TH400 4x4 trans & right adapter plate, output shaft that is longer & a matching TH400 241 C Manual floor shift transfer case.
350 TBI engine in mine.

I have a th400 4x4 out of a 1986 cucv. Probably going with 205 transfer case and eventually going to put Dana 60 up front.

Th400 I have has the shortest output shaft they made so need to fine a 205 with long input shaft or change one that has short input shaft.

Its confusing researching I recall Turbo 400 4x4 version into different GM Transfer cases.
Pirate 4x4 helped me.
I have to dig some again.
I had another thread going on this topic in the Lounge but that is gone now so all my last 1 year projects I posted are gone & info I documented.

I bought a 1 inch longer output shaft used in K3500 Trucks TH400 1989-1990.
Then the later 4L80E came out. Different output lengths also but some may come close enough.
Found what I needed to make the TH400 swap into my 1994 Suburban 4x4 On ebay.
2 months I found bought all.

I had a 203 or 205 NP adapter plate for a TH400. Came with my 1979 400. Sold it on ebay.
