Stroking my 350. Using Holley aluminum heads, 184 cc/68 cc
10.3/1 comp
dual plane manifold
670 avenger carb
thorley tri y headers
1.6 rockers
30"rear tires
3.73 gear
cam?????

had a lunati in the 350:
230/230
ad- 292/292
lift- 480/480
sep- 109
centerline- 107

I liked this cam in the 350, good lopey idle but am afraid the 383 will eat it up. I am looking for low end torque, but dont mind some sacrifice for the wanted idle.

need hyd flat tappet

thanks in advance..

oh, ran 2100 stall in 350, wanted to know if the stroke would increase this one enough for my needed cam...

truck is for street use, some strip, 2-4 times year--NOT daily driver. thanks again...

if you liked that cam in the 350 youll most likely love it in a 383 (ITS MOST LIKELY A BETTER MATCH ON A 383,BUILT LIKE YOU LISTED) as youll find it gained some torque over the whole rpm range,(usually 35-40 ft lbs) still has a noticeable lope, but should provide even better power, than it does in a 350.
keep in mind that "LOPE" in the idle is the result, of reversion pulses causing lower rpm f/a mixture distribution issues that smooth out once the rpms increase, those cost low rpm power , the larger displacement and slightly longer stroke will help slightly in absorbing part of the reversion. the lope may sound impressive but it HURTS low rpm power, until the rpms increase enough to nullify the reversion, swapping to 1.6:1 roller rockers (if your current ones are not)tends to help if your heads and clearances allow

heres your cam

if you want a boost in power ID suggest at least considering swapping to a roller cam like THESE
