I still read plugs but efi allows you to adjust fuel and timing with a couple of taps of the display.I have guys come into my shop with spark plugs with over 100 K miles on them,
and asking if its really necessary to swap them out...
any concept of tuning , knowledge or related info,
to most tuning, engine function, reading spark plugs,
using an infrared gun to read exhaust temps, use of a vacuum gauge,
changing ignition advance curves, is almost a black art/magic
Only way to make a Vertex magneto work is to use Alpha Numeric programs. Why? Because of spark
Yes Grumps, it's straight up but degreed in intake 108 exhaust at 115 3/4° is what it came out to be.hows the cam indexed<
if its dot-to-dot rather than having been dialed in, chances are excellent its installed 4 degrees advanced,
from split over-lap or strait up, if you RE-installed it 4 degrees retarded,
from split over-lap or strait up,the whole power curves likely to move about 300 rpm higher ,
in that 496 displacement, but the dynamic compression will drop,
generally a good change in a 496 BBC,
if your running E85 that compression may not be a bad thing?

Raining off and on here too.It is now switched to liquid corn (e85)
To bad it's pouring rain out..
New pump walbro 525 lph for e85
And replaced all my foam in fuel cell
Everything else is all ready setup for it.
Good Deal.Well it revs up now...
It likes corn liquor (e85)
Ran it out to 6800 with no problem at all
Pro flo 4 worked fine with it had to add a bit of fuel to wot, cruise, and a tiny bit at idle.
It definitely makes noticeable torque too
Well Grumpy it's impressive.yes let us know how it runs once you get to go out and play with it,
on a nice long strip of open road surface, where you can accelerate for 8-9 seconds under load.
I had a neighbor who couldn't get her truck started last winter. dodge 5.9 magnum 163,000 miles. It had original plugs wires cap and rotor!I have guys come into my shop with spark plugs with over 100 K miles on them,

Its going to Hit harder with 215 cranking PSI.
I like 290 -310 psi cranking. No Pump Gas. 110 Motor Octane race gas or similar Race fuel motor octane.
190-195 psi cranking pretty much the limit on 93 RM/2 documented by David Vizzard.
190-195 psi cranking what I have on the 63 Gp. Runs on 87 fine with Total ignition timing set at 33 degrees BTDC.
I think it pulls it off because of the High Rod to Stroke ratio 425 has.
7.0"C-C.
3.9375 " stroke.
1.778 R/S
Learned to work with whatever you have.
Trying to Doctor too much not worth it.
Needs High Octane fuel, Give It what it wants.
