4L60-E case codes

I have a 4L60-E Im trying to identify I havent been able to find the correct codes online, Im probably not googling the right terms. Anyway, I found it in storage and remember it was behind a 1995 LT1 I picked up years ago. I now have a 1995 corvette with a bad transmission (3/4 clutches), and Im trying to see if I can use this one while I have the original built properly.

Code is 5TBD112H. I got it from the case. It supposedly had 70k on it, but I have no way of verifying that.

I know 1995 transmissions are kind of funny as they dont swap into a 1994 or a 1996+ as is. Its an odd crossover year, just like the obd2 port on an obd1 com. If this transmission will play nice with the 1995 y-body ECM, I'll drop the pan to make sure the valves in the valve body are free and that there is no metal, moisture or clutch residue before swapping them. Im trying to avoid having more cars disassembled lying around than necessary.

Seems to be a waste to let it sit if it'll work, even temporarily, in this car. I dont trust anyone locally to build one for me.

Here is how to year date a 700R4/4L60 transmission. It can also be used to date 4L60E transmissions if you continue the date progression. 4L60E's use the letter D as the 3rd digit of the 3 letter model code, where 700R4/4L60 uses a M. To go into the 4L60E years just go up from the 1993 code, 1994 =4 1995 = 5 etc. Just looked at 98 GM repair manual and 98 and later trans, the 1st number after the 3 letter code will be the build date of the trans. Example- if 8 is the 1st # in code for 98 model year, after the 3 letters could be a 7 or 8 for the build date.

The C4 Corvette had a special shortened output shaft.
The transmission you have does not have a V in the code.
Should be a V casted in the Bellhousing.
Need the right C4 Tailhousing for the C beam.
You can cut the standard 2wd car tail shaft with a cutoff wheel.
Wrap the trans in blankets and cut.
To remove the output shaft the entire trans comes apart .
What guys used to do in your situation.
