Full Manual 4L80E 4 Speed Automatic Transmission
Rodney Hudson-Davies posted at 24/03/2011
Our Technical, Development and Motorsports Division of Wholesale Automatics have done it again with the release of our Extreme Stage II 4L80E 4 Speed Automatic Transmission. The 4L80E is basically a 4 speed T/400 that comes standard as a computer controlled unit but can also be used as hydraulic unit once modified without the need for any wiring or computer to run the transmission. Our development team has been playing with these units and has successfully built this unit into what is now considered to be the strongest 4 speed automatic transmission for its size. We have so far managed to bolt up to 900HP in front of our Extreme Stage II 4L80E Full Manual units which is 350HP more than the T/700R4 ( 4L60 & 4L60E ) Extreme 4 Speed Transmissions.
The transmission is far better suited to Large Vehicles, Heavy Towing, Four Wheel Drive Vehicles, Motor Homes, Street Competition and Extreme Four Wheel Drive conditions but not professional drag racing as the old reliable 2 speed Powerglide is better suited to 600-1200 HP in the light weight cars. We sell changeover units, Outright reco units and brand new units that can all be fitted with the full manual or standard valve bodies. All units can be bought as Standard, Standard but with Full Manual, 600Hp Stage II Kit or Extreme 900Hp Stage II kit, the 900Hp kit is only built as a full Manual. Please contact Rodney at Wholesale Automatic Transmissions for any Questions. 03-97628004 Aus or 613-97628004 International
Does anyone have experience converter a 4l80E to full manual control, Ive had a new 4l80e auto transmission sitting on a shelf in its factory packaging in my shop for a few years that I want to convert to full manual control as it will make installing it in a car far less difficult than wiring in an expensive computer control module.
