Hi grumpy I would like your opinion on something.

I might be able to get a motor off a 95 for a real good deal. Like 200 or 300 bucks. Or maybe more to add the transmissions. But I want know if that's a good motor even after with the new parts on my carbed 84.

What would I need to just the motor in?

the 1995 is an lt1 engine and it produces about twice the stock hp of the 1984 cross fire, but its not going to be a drop in swap because of the different heads, ignition etc.
don,t get discouraged IT not imposable to do, either. and at that price if its a running engine its a great deal, especially If you can buy the wiring harness and CPU also, but if you can,t its not an insurmountable problem, especially if you want to convert to a carb and 1984 ignition

well he is going to sell me everthing.. harness and computer and complete motor. he only wants the body not the motor and trany. so that should make it easier right?

also would my tranmission fit perfecty or would it be best to get that tranny too?

your transmission will fit but if you can get the newer trans its stronger, and matches better so its a big help

if both you and he have corvettes in reasonable shape and hes building a race car why not swap him your car and some cash for his car and save a good deal of work

not a bad idea. This is what he is doing. he is going to buy the car off of craigslist from some guy who crashed the front end. so he wants to buy it for the body and is going to make a deal on the motor and trans for me
