looking for a new or used car/truck?
chances are EXCELLENT you'll run into several less than honest car sales staff, yes even at major dealerships,
and in many cases there's going to be several institutionally mandated shady dealing practices used,
to increase the price you pay on delivery or finance costs or both.
yeah! we have all been screwed financially at some time, but you can reduce the financial pain,
if you know what to look out for and how most car dealers work the numbers
don't be afraid to walk out on a deal if they won't budge on the price and finance details,
there are a few dealers that will treat you better (if you know what's going on)

legislation was recently passed to reduce dealership fraud!
it resulted in reduced profits

yes , its hardly news,
there are corrupt politicians willing to take bribes to allow fraud

now the politicians are proposing removing the legislation and rules limiting fraud

and of course the insane, new car interest rates and payments don't help

btw I was recently at a GMC dealership where I bought my current truck,
as I waited for the minor upgrade to a cpu chip to be done
(I had paid for the option, something about park assist, over 20 months ago but the part was not available until now)
I just for curiosity asked what it would cost in cash to trade my 2022 4x4 truck, in perfect shape with less than 20K miles,
in on a new nearly identical 2024 truck,
with a strait face he says let me run the numbers, and he come out 30 minutes later and says.. your truck and only $34,700, gets you a new 2024 4x4 that basically says they think my 2022 truck lost more than 1/2 its value since I bought it.. he seemed surprised that I failed to jump on his great deal! :swearing:
