ABS light

I recently replaced a front hub which included the ABS sensor and afterwords the ABS light is still on. I checked out all the other wheels and they're all good. I have to get this vehicle's state inspection done asap and I need to get rid of that ABS light. Is there a way I can shut it off? Is the only way using an electronic ABS device? This is for a 2004 GMC Savana all wheel drive.

Ribbet....Ribbet.....Ribbet...... (If there are cricket, there must be frogs close by)

Sorry I really had no idea how to turn the light out when you posted
the first time.

A wiring diagram would be most helpful. Can you verify the connection
at the sensor, with a VOM somehow? Try braking/making the connection
several times to remove any oxidation on the pins.

As far as the light is concerned, I guess you could take the lamp
out maybe ???

My employee was rear-ended in my delivery van and after that moment the ABS came on. The body shop found a missing bolt holding the front caliper on and caused the caliper to ride off the rotor when backing up (you like that?). The body shop didn't reset the ABS fault light, I think it's done by a OBDII with ABS Diagnostics, or some other trick - taking the battery off won't do it.

Remove the bulb.. or like some guy at the shop told us a few week ago put a tape over it.. lol
you need an abs scanner, most then likelly if its not an wheel sensor (can be checked with vom set to ohm setting) its usually the harness that break a wire.

Here is something for you. i can post the diagram in higher resolution.
i was unsure if its an 1500 or 2500 so i posted for the 1500 model.

Mat,
In the PDF it said to check using the diagnostic system check, Is that the ABS scanner? - OBDII? or nither? I cannot tell what is the rated Ohm(s) is to check on a vom.
BTW, thanks for looking this up.

am not really sure, but i think you need a tech 2 or most then likelly a special abs scanner. A OBDII scanner will not work that i know.
I know the file are not much usefull it all say to use a darn abs scaner/diagnostic tool. i had the wheel sensor resistance chart but its for a 98 grand prix gt i think its totally different and i cant find it.. but i say just take measurement of all wheel speed sensor you will find the one out of range. But let me tell you in 90% of case its a wheel speed sensor harness the problem, check for open in the harness that plug into the speed sensor from the wheel hub to the gloset connector upward for each wheel, they usually break there and at the wheel.

It could very well be the wire harness due to the messed up caliper (probably put tension/pulled the ABS wire or dirt got in the sensor) I will pull it apart tomorrow. Every one of my vehicles is breaking down with unusual repairs in such a short period of time!

So now all that's left is to go get an ABS scanner. Amazon, here I come.

I'll say one thing for Chrysler (my TJ), all you need is to turn the key on and off 2 1/2 times and you get a DC and a short disscription of the problem on the dash.
