Actually removing the C4 fuel rail...

Hi Grumpy...

Do you have a link or post that will give tips on actually removing the fuel rail on a 1986 C4.

I have an interference between the 9th injector air tube of the left side runners and the top of the fuel rail...do I have to remove the left side runners to remove the fuel rail? :?:

Thanks,

Enuzio

this should be helpful
If youve got an early year TPI , thats designed to use a 9th cold start injector, check the cold start injector as its a potential problem source if its not working correctly. The cold start injector is between the front and rear pairs of runner tubes on the driver-side.on early TPI engines if its not working or loose causing a vacuum leak starting the engines much harder, later versions did not use these

THERE ARE TPI COLD START INJECTOR BLOCK OFF KITS

[89 was the changeover years for alot of stuff]

88 had MAF, cold start inj., no VATS
89 had MAF , no cold start Inj. and VATS
90 had SD, no cold start inj., and VATS

if you want to use a cold start inj., use a 88 PROM
so to do away with the cold start inj., you need a 89 PROM with VATS removed

(Left) 85-88 Intake (Right) 89-92 Intake
Note: (Left) Intake has a coolant temp(a) and a cold start sensor (b) for the ninth injector.
(Right) only has the coolant temp sensor (a) for cold start and coolant temp for the
computer.
