Gumpy I would like to pick your brain on a motor build for an 81 vette it's an automatic trans with 355 rear gears . I would like to build a 383 with a kit from OHio crankshaft with a 3.75 stroke crank , 6" I beam rods and SRP forged pistons . I need to know what type of blaancer and flexplate to use as a rotating assembly is internally upgrade to a 200R4 or 700 R4 trans this car will be used for HP street use and some highway miles to carslile bowling green etc. So it was to be dependable . The block with retro fit comp cams Hyd lifters. The cam I have is a thumper 12-602-8 that I was told to use as a doorstop I have 1.5 proform full lifters and I'm planning to use AFR 1955cc alum heads with 65cc chambers. I like the MSD igintion 85551 billet distributor 8223 blaster III coil the 6 AL box with rev limiter and will have at least 1 3/4" ceramic headers . I need a suggestion on a cam, intake dual plane , and an oil pan as do have a budget. I'm trying to find the best bang for the buck. Again this isa high performance street runner no raceing well maybe a couple of assholes that I can't resisist. I will also need a carb and need to know to know what type of balencer and flexplate you have to run on . An internally balanced motor also I'm thinking on changeing to an aluminum radiator ,trans, oil cooler and your opinion on electric fans any advice you are willing to share or opinions on things you don't like like the cam for instance or weather I should re think and go another direction you're advice will be greatley valued and appriciated also I'm running a gear drive and not achain.

thank you in advance

Ray,

I was looking back thru some of the old threads and noticed that you never received a response. Sorry they just get missed sometimes.

What is the status of your project now? What did you decide to do?

SORRY THIS WAS MISSED, I DON,T KNOW WHY IT WAS, IM ASSUMING YOU MEAN INTERNALLY BALANCED HERE?
IF SO ID SUGGEST YOU CALL AND ASK OHIO CRANK WHAT THEY SUGGEST , BUT I WOULD AVOID USE OF THE CHINESE IMPORT BALANCERS AS THEY HAVE DEVELOPED A REPUTATION FOR FAILURES

Id agree with that in most cases
