yes I totally agree but you still need to pass inspections on new construction

stupid rules by stupider people GFCI required for a washer receptacle they wont run a washer but its code a single 14-2 wire to a bathroom is code with hair driers curling irons and the 50 other things that women use in there you trip the breaker every day I always run 2 # 12 wires with 2 plugs that works but its not code now for running ductwork you have to space your ducts 1 inch below the joists and no joist panning then you have to have your duct inspected for no leakage only 5% allowed and to boot the leaking air is leaking into the house with the rest of the air and the best part it costs about 5 grand for an inspection

All these BS rules is to give someone's lazy brother in law a job because he's too dumb to have a job then you make him an important inspector and you have an instant God

yes, WHILE ITS UNFORTUNATE,
most of us have run into various versions of the self important type of "INSPECTORS"
I've usually found my electrical work far exceeds the minimums,
but I've always run 10 ga minimum copper wire on 110 volt outlets and 8GA copper wire on 220 volt circuits
but they constantly throw new requirements into the mix,
obviously you need to keep up with the current requirements
