to buy a cleanable and reuseable oil filter!
personal opinion, NO!
look at the filter micron rating,of the filter and the cost..
most reuseable and clean-able oil filters cost a great deal,
well over $100 many over $200 much.....
more than the common replaceable versions
and offer far lower filtering ability
you can buy a great many years of disposable oil filters for the cost of the washable reusable versions
chevy engines originally had canister oil filters,
you may find them in salvage yards dirt cheap,
on the 1955-65 cars at times.
but most people swapped to the spin-on disposable versions,
as soon as they were available because testing showed they improved filtering and were faster and easy to use and cheaper
thats why the adapter kits are so popular
