Air ratchets REQUIRE oiling and DRY AIR FLOW,
obviously the quality of the air ratchet matters, but they ALL,
must be kept well lubed and use dry air

if you don,t keep the moisture content in the compressor air flow very low,
youll have very frequent air tool failures.

(to get it to free up, Id suggest you place it in a plastic bag with enough MMO and some other penetrating oil to cover the ratchet head and let it sit for an hour or som and work the ratchet back and forth manually a few dozen times, it should loosen up)
Do you use air tool lubricant (Marvel Mystery Oil)?

you should, use an oil squirt can
to put squirt of MMO into the air inlet port,
with the machinist oil can you should have on hand in any shop
and the ratchets moving head component parts,
before and after every use ,
to prevent the moisture in the air from eventually corroading it internally.[/quote]
