you do realize that type of aluminum beer keg ,or aluminum fuel tank,
that has a pin hole leak or cracked bung for a fuel fitting, or most aluminum,
gas tank repair's, minor intake manifold cracks,
minor porting screw-ups on aluminum intakes,
like sealing pin holes and thermostat corrosion repairs ARE
generally done like this VIDEO BELOW

BTW it should be obvious, it would be smart to fill the empty beer keg fuel tank with a complete flush of argon or CO2 before using a torch near any fuel tank,
BTW
if you don,t have a welding tank with shield gas handy your local super market generally can sell you 5-6 lbs of DRY ICE, if you pour all the fuel out and flush the tank with water and a few drops of dawn dis soap then rinse, then drop in 5-6 lbs of crushed dry ice and cover the exits with duct tape then wait 20 minutes the tank will be filled with a low pressure cloud of co2 gas making an explosion impossiable

and you could very easily do it faster, cheaper and better yourself

you don,t ALWAYS need a tig welder to repair aluminum ,and many parts you may assume are aluminum are actually ZINC ALLOY CASTINGS
example,
if your t-stat /intake housing mounting, is corroded or youve got an aftermarket timing chain cover this aluma-weld can be use to repair it in most cases even if its a zinc casting or an aluminum cast part

Description of Harbor Freight 44810

Now you can weld aluminum with any low temperature torch--even a propane torch! Amazing technology makes a stronger weld than the parent material without flux or other welding material. Alumiweld makes a stronger weld than the parent material.

Stronger than aluminum
Harder than mild steel
Non-toxic
Low working temperature (730° F)
No flux or fumes
Excellent corrosion resistance
Minimize parent material distortion during welding

Nice Links Grumpy.
I have not ever tried Alumninum Weld.
Looks Like Handy to have around.

Brian, my neighbor just left, a bad storm is moving through right now. He brought over 2 C4 rims with deep groves carved by his wife and the mall's curbs. I filled the gashes with the rods, filed and sanded level. You can't tell anything was there an hour ago. He high-tailed it out of here to go home and buff up the whole wheels. He does have before pictures because he was getting quotes for some shop's cost. I just left him a message to take current pics and send them to me. If I was faster I could possibly make some gas money doing this fixup. I'm so impressed, not even a color difference (which I can't understand).

I would have had to invest much more time heating up those rims to temperature if I used Propane.
Must have a talk with Hank Hill!

Hey Brian, there's a big wedding near you in 2 weekends from now. I might be there, not sure yet.
