There is an area low on the passenger door that the seller said he scraped it on a cement block, so now there's a botch-job re-spray (no repair, just painted the scratch) I want to fix and repainted. It's Pontiac's Solar Red, not enough area for a to mix up and to set up the sprayer.
Anybody know where I can get matching paint? I don't think Duplicolor goes back that far.

Its Going to be Custom mixed Paint to match Richard.

Contact your local paint supply store where you would buy larger quantities. They may offer or know someone who offers custom mix put into spray can. Take the vehicle with you to get the best match by using the computerized paint scanner on the paint right next to the door handle you want to match.

That said, although the paint color will be very close to the existing paint it will fade at at a different rate so over the years the door handle may look different.

I know you mentioned it's hassle it is to set up your sprayer etc. for a small job like that but it might be worth it. I buy small quantities of custom paint to do repairs such as mirrors using the paint scanner fairly often. It was $15.00 for 2 oz of PPG Omni basecoat the last time I bought red.
