backup light switch on 1996 LT 4 ce six speed.

I know where the switch is located, and how to check the switch, but getting to it on my back under the car is impossible for me. Any ideas how I can do this. I am now 75, and not as limber as I used to be. Thanks in advance. Larry

I,m in a similar condition at times in that , I,m now 61 years old (but feel 80, years old PLUS at times) and Ive got surgery pins in my ankle and knee , from busting both in an accident so some locations in a car are very hard for me to access, due to lack of flexibility. I know it won,t be a big help, too you, but I generally either remove the seat temporarily for under the dash access or much more frequently grab one of my 27, or 35 year old sons and carefully instruct them with pictures and schematic as to the potential problem and causes and the tools used to check/verify then verbally walk them thru the test or repair process .
both sons are not really into "CARS" but they have acquired a working knowledge due to being "dragged kicking and screaming all the way" into helping the old guy with repairs on numerous occasions.

obviously the first step is verifying the voltage is present, with a V.O.M. meter, and you don,t have a broken wire or blown fuse, your dealing with. Once your sure you've got current on the wire feeding the switch ,before the switch and that the switch functions and electricity flows thru the switch when its activated, once that's verified, and the circuits wiring and the lights themselves , will need to be checked.Ive had simple bad lights turn into a long detailed series of tests when it was simply a bad light itself, so the first step is to check grounds and for voltage at the light(s) not the switch

Thank you grumpy. I will try to do what you said. I tried to check the switch, but it was to hard to get to. I will check the lights, but there are two and neither are working. I have check the fuse. I wish I was in the loop like the old days, and I would have some of my buddies help me. Take care Larry
