paying $2000 for an un-restored Qjet, in questionable condition, that may or may not be salvageable IS NUTS

Its worth $2k & more Grumpy.
Specially calibrated metering circuits.
Its a 1969 RAM AIR 4 AUTO TRANS TURBO 400.
They have sold on ebay up to $3500.
Have the original 1970-1/2 Trans Am Ram Air 4 carb for my car.
The 1974 SD455 Auto trans Carb I have also is worth $4k on a bad day.
Nealy impossible to find either today easy.
For $65-100 k Show cars & Super stock Racers.
Unrestored worth more. Proof positive its not cloned.
Numbers stamped deep.
Have to grind down deep 3/16 inches to remove.
Nothing left of carb body then.

Oh well, buying parts is out of my league. Looks like a restoration from a reputable shop is the only smart move, perhaps an older restoration and from a dedicated auto auction -

That's what I have been trying to Convey to You Rich.
The Power bands Grumpy builds in SBC & MILD BBC Duplicates a Pontiac 400-455 near exact.
He knows what works.
