Bears In Nj

We have some big bears in New Jersey. There’s been a few around this summer more than usual and getting pretty close to the houses. My neighbors have had bears show up on their outside security cameras and not just at night. My dogs were going crazy this morning at about 9:15 and I looked out the back, nothing. Looked out the side and told my wife that nobody’s here. I looked out the front and going out of my driveway and heading across the street was a BIG black bear that I’d say was about 400 lbs. that’s a big black bear in anyone’s book. Our governor ended all bear hunting on any state land about 3 years ago. Thanks a lot Murphy! I don’t want to hunt them or shoot them fir just being around but I’m concerned about my Dogs and now I look before going out early or late in the day. These two were taken 10 minutes from my house.



I'm posting this for a friend that lives in NJ.
They are big bears and not usual for here in NC even though the record was set here for one over 700#.

yeah the local fish & game dept. is reluctant to acknowledge we have black bears locally,
but all the local guys have seen several in our local management hunt areas,over the last year many times.
but they rarely visit the homes/ trash cans in my neighborhood

Why does the game commission deny things like this they do that down the farm with bears and did for a long time with coyotes

The bear that was on the news here was probably displaced by this forest fire. Im not far from there.
