there are certain basic tools like a drill press and,
a 12 ton-20 ton, hydraulic press, that come in very handy on a regular basis
a floor jack and 4... 12 ton rated jack stands, also come to mind!
but Ive found a few other tools that get used rather regularly,
and a decent belt sander fits that category
when you can pick up a decent belt sander for under $200,
its well worth the price to have!
now obviously you could buy something at HF , or other low cost import,
for a good deal less , but you also get a good deal less, durability, in my opinion,
simply based on the fact that I know several people that have had other belt sanders in their shop for many years without and durability issues, other than of course constant belts needing to be replaced, but that's expected as its a wear item,
and I know of two of my friends that purchased HF belt sanders and both had issues inside of two years,
now too be fair, thats hardly a huge sample, and HF sells an extended warranty and they do honor it if you keep good records
if you have a good belt sander how about posting some info about your's
how long have you had it?
what do you use it for?
what brand and size? and anything else you might care to share?
