C4 door hinge

Hey Grumpy, looks like it's time to replace the drivers side door hinge pin and bushing on my C4. I have a little slop in the door when I lift up on it. The Passenger side is fine.

Have you done this before? If so any tips? It looks like there are two schools of thought. Do it with the hinges in the car or remove the hinges from the car one at a time. It looks like on the C4, it's easy to access the hinges with the hood open and lower finder panel removed. Since the stock pins are crimped it looks like they will need to be cut before they can be hammered out.

new pins and bushings are cheap enough, but drilling for the bushings and alignment can be an issue ,swapping to new upper hinges is usually the cure

a good transmission jack to support the doors weight while you work on it helps a great deal

a pad on the jack helps protect the door finish
