Cam for stock 305 CFI

My ex and her 82 Z28 CFI are back. We bought this car in 83. It has sat for 5 years with a wiped cam. It is stock, has the 200r4 tranny, I don't know the diff ratio, head #s and anything else I don't know I need to know. (the car is not in my driveway yet.) It has always ran oversized tires, 245 60 15.
I'm hoping I can get the stall out of it. I've always been told it was the crossfire. My plan is to put a cam and timing gears, maybe alittle work on the intake if you think it's worth it. (I've been reading about it on Crossfire Vault) I have some 1.6 roller rocker I can put on it or even get some 1.5 to mix in if that combo would help my 383 (Performer heads and intake, 5000rpm)

I'm looking at a Voodoo 60100 or maybe 101, but would like your input. I have to think there is somthing better than stock.

I live a 6000' Go up to 8400' some and seldom below 4500'. I don't know if this comes into play.

Thanks, Randy

I waded in and got stuck. I tried to figure the V/P but got stuck on the SE. cosA and sinA. what is it? How long is a 305 rod? 5.70
I did learn my adj. AP is 11.76 at 6000 ft. and I need to up the compression when I build my 383.
The mudding waters are clearing. I'll keep reading.

I'm just trying to get this running. Heads are not in the budget. It's her car and she thinks its a rocket. I was hoping to not have to pull the heads, The FSM has the motor at 9.5:1 and the cam at .260/.273
The car is on its forth tranny, I'm afraid to do much to it with the 200 and I don't want to go there.
More money for my car.
