Cars you just don't see anymore.

This could be a big subject as recently I've been contemplating something different. I've been thinking how you never see (or even listed for sale) the late 60's Corvairs. infact, I can't find any for sale after 1966 and they made them through 1969.
Another car is the Chevrolet Monza. that car was made for 5 years and over 730,000 of them, so you shouldn't call them "Rare" (unless you're selling one on eBay or CL  ). They were lightweight at 2600 lbs and you could get them with 5 different engines 4 cyl., 3.8 V6, 4.3 V8, 305 and even had a 350 with a four speed available in a 2 + 2 configuration. They even had options like F-41 suspension and sport handling packages. I can imagine weight to power ratios can be really wild numbers. The one feature that stands out the most is you have a lightweight subcompact that it doesn't need any modifications for any small block/trans combo, did I mention it's a rear wheel drive and they had A/C? I actually sat in one a while back, it's a tight fit for anybody 6' 2" or taller to fit in a sub-compact. What else is seldom seen?

the cars I miss the most are the 68-70 road runners and 65-69 gtos, and the 68-69 AMX, they were all fairly common at one time but I just don,t see those for sale often, I also don,t see many ford MAVERICKS,or chevy VEGAS, now the vast majority of these were never a really nice performance car in stock form, but at one time they were rather common candidates for engine swaps

The Chevy Monzas, Vegas, Pintos, Gremlins, Mavericks are still around.
Nearly all survivors have been converted to Drag Race cars.
Small & Light.

The AMC AMX & Javelin are very Rare today.
Any Mopar fan will say the same.
Not most valuable but highly prized by the owners.

The Cosworth Vega looked like a poor man's Camaro. The Monza and Vega were both H bodys, I believe Pontiac called theirs the Astro. Yesterday I saw a an early 1980's Cutlass Diesel - it was an attempt at something to offer the domestic market after the 1979 Arab oil embargo.

Grumpy - wanna see your 68-70 RR's, 65 -69 Goats and 68-69 AMX then go to Mecum.com - They are all there and I would take any one of them home! in Dallas this week I have 2 of my best vehicles in that action, I hope I can get my money back!
