Change in priority.

Right. Gentlemen. I am thinking of a change in priority. Originally I was going to work on rust proofing the skate then adding sound deadener and once that is stable, moving on to working on the body and having is sprayed professionally.

Considering I work outside in my driveway... Now I'm thinking that it might be best to start with the body as I can continue work on the pan while it's in for spraying.

What thinks you?

That and I suspect it's best to do the body work before the cold weather really sets in.

As always what your comfortable doing you should do while you have the opportunity, location and tools needed.
I frequently find I go start some facet of a project and if I have one of my friends over we make good progress, but if theres no one there I tend to work until the wife comes up with some silly (HONEY DO!) project which if I have a friend over I have an excuse to temporarily ignore, and theres no doubt that if my wife gets bored, she can instantly think up some trivial P.I.T.A. project "she needs" help with.
The order you do a project in is based on, how you need to gain access to components and both your skills and what you can afford to farm out, the order of assembly obviously, your access to work space, required, your tool availability and available cash flow limitations.
personally Id get a rolling chassis and suspension built, correctly with brakes, springs shocks, etc then get the body completed, then work on interior, paint and sealing, insulation, support brackets , fuel supply system ,then wiring gauges etc, then install the seats and interior panels, carpet, head liners, dash etc. and finish with installing the drive train which as a unit can have a separate time frame

I agree with Grumpy Dorian.
Get the Car back together & rollng.
Most frame off restorations take 2-10 years to complete
Unless you have at least 4-5 guys helping around the clock. Then it can be completed in 2 weeks.
TV sponsors kick out $200k to pay all.

Agreed with grumpy,
seen too many guy with a car dissassembled and off the road for years because they lost interest and dont find the time to work on it.

Dorian,

Is all your work going to be outside or will you be able to move parts of it inside? I can't image working outside when the temps are in the 40's or less. Your rainiest two months are coming up, that's not going to help.

More power to you son, I hope you make it by spring!!! ;)

Sorry, I thought I had posted to this thread, but didn't see it just now. I actually posted to your other thread.....oooppps!
