66cayne said:My 496 will be ready in a month or so. I need to decide what clutch/pressure plate to run. This is going in a '66 Biscayne that currently has a 327 (331)sbc/Saginaw 4 speed. It also has 4.10/12 bolt. I have a fresh M21 to install with the BBC. I also have a scattersheild and an 11" Hays billet flywheel to install with the BBC. It is a street car and I don't plan to put on slicks and really to hook this thing up. So what would be a good choice for a clutch assembly?

this subject has the potential to provide a great deal of useful info, the type of clutch you select has a huge effect on the engines ability to transfer the engines torque and the different types (diaphram, long, borg and beck style, multi disc etc ) all have potential advantages, and flaws and for damn sure the differences in both petal pressure and clamping force will potentially vary a great deal with the choices you make.
read through the POSTED LINK AND SUB-LINKS and give me some idea as to budget limitations, your limits on acceptable petal pressure your willing to put up with and some idea if this is a daily driver or week end toy.
ID also strongly suggest anyone installing a serious engine with a manual trans use SFI cert. blow proof bell housing
