concealed handgun carry liability insurance

having concealed carry legal cost insurance may be a huge financial life saver
BUT YOULL NEED TO READ RTHE POLICY CAREFULLY,

many policy's have huge gaps in what and where coverage exists
do any of you gentlemen have experience with this yet?
because this is a fairly recent field I'd suspect theres at least a few scam artists as well as firms you could trust
obviously you'll want to know in detail, exactly what is covered and what is not! covered, what your legal responsibility's will still be and what the insurance should cover,(cost should be reasonably low simply because most people go through life without ever needing this type of legal defensive coverage)
you'll want them too cover bail and pay for ALL your legal costs, up to a limit thats carefully defined, should the need arise, so its very doubtful that the least expensive options will provide anything like reasonable full coverage thus you damn sure better read the fine print and exceptions on any policy carefully, before expecting that "your covered" should you ever need that insurance
( As always, if the actions by you and the insurer, and legal responsibility's, are not well defined in print coverage does not exist)
the last thing you want,
is too pay for years or even decades on a legal defense policy and have some shyster tell you you screwed up and what you did is not covered by your policy, so verify in writing that if your involved in any way, wither you shoot your gun, or not, if your attacked or your defending a family member, if your at home or traveling the coverage applies.
obviously if you commit a crime they may not want to be involved with your defense ,
but
theres a huge difference between shooting some thug breaking into your home, kicking in the door, or shooting some idiot who pulls a gun or knife on you at the ATM, who threatens your life, with a weapon, too force you into giving him cash
(this is legitimate defense and your under a reasonable expectation of bodily harm or death so legal lethal force should be covered)

vs

you doing something totally unreasonable,
like shooting some guy in your front yard that ran over your mail box with his car, or shooting some guy who cheated you out of $500 some how.
(you can,t expect to be covered for criminal acts or blatant stupidity)

you,ll want to know how financially solvent the company is and under what conditions they pay?
if they will only reimburse you for legal costs, up to a set limit ... after you successfully prove your innocent the insurance is virtually worthless, as most of us can,t afford the attorney costs, that,s why you bought the damn insurance,

Here are some things to ask about when purchasing concealed carry insurance:

    • Does it cover both civil and criminal court cases?
    • Does it cover attorney fees, court costs, mistrials, and appeals?
    • Does it cover bail bonds?
    • Does it cover investigation costs and witness fees?
    • Does it cover an initial attorney retainer?
    • Does it offer coverage across state lines?
    • What is the coverage cap (the maximum amount it will cover) for each element of your case?
    • Does it cover your spouse, or do you need to purchase additional coverage?
your thoughts? any experiences? (anyone in the business? , a criminal/civil lawyer?)

Safe: check
Alarm with cameras: check
Door frames and doors reinforce with steel (it was a fun weekend project!): check

Lawer on retainer (has some limitations): check

I'm thinking about some explicit protection after dealing with some very asshole law enforcement mentality lately....

While at my LTC course, they mentioned insurance, not endorsing them but a insurance company handed out leaflets to the students in the class! 10 bux a month is a small price compared to costs without it!

As you stated above there are many great common sense procedures to follow when you carry but read the fine print on the liability insurance policies. Many insurance contracts have compliance requirements spelled out. In the case of a major claim and you didn’t follow policy guidelines, you may face something as little as a cancellation after pay out up to denied settlement.
If you own a home (meaning not a renter, you don’t have to be without a mortgage) and have very good credit (the lowest FICO score reported by the 3 CRA’s at 720) there are exceptions),""
you would be better off with an umbrella policy. That eliminates any compliance clauses from insurance riders to individual policies and almost always saves you money. Nationwide, Allstate, The Heartford and John Hancock have the least restrictive umbrella policies at the best prices.
If you don’t understand “Umbrella” insurance, it typically is one policy that covers Home, auto, ccw, drone piloting, personal collectable property and small business.

If your in a Situation like Kyle was last summer I advise keep going Move Out Men !

Home Defense is a touchy matter.
I will shoot 100% for sure here !

as stated you have to read the policy fine print very carefully,
because the insurance company would like nothing better than to collect for years or decades and if you ever need coverage..
to dump you on the street like a hot potato due to FINE PRINT EXCLUESIONS

Yes, this does happen, but at the same time insurance companies don’t want a reputation for not paying, or long drawn out settlements. Word would get around and it could severely hurt or even bankrupt those companies.

Bill told me all Insurance companies are underinsured. Impossible to go bankrupt for them all

It wouldn’t get past the state’s insurance commission’s annual audit if that was true. It’s possible but extremely unlikely, that every policy holder could suffer a loss and therefore open a claim. The State would have to step in because any licensed insurance company is only compelled to have asset liquidity to cover 55% of their policies. The States have a gap insurance to cover the rest.

these are very interesting video's on the subject of ccw insurance

I'll keep.my.attorney that I've had on retainer for 30+.years. I've needed him for multiple charges and all with no covictions.

where are you located, and can he suggest a competent local attorney near farmersville texas? (75442) ZIP CODE

most of us just naturally trust the police and assume since we have not done something illegal we are safe legally,
the reality is, in many cases the local political management wants to justify the police use, and time spent on any search
keep in mind police are trained to look for anything that might be illegal,
and if they can't find a reason some will try to get you to give them a reason/justification,
to charge or arrest you and search for a reason
AS any lawyer will tell you..they are not your friend,
you can bet your last dollar safely that any criminal they arrest that you confronted will lie about what happened or what you did,
and any police will try to ignore your rights and take full advantage of your ignorance of procedures , if you let them.
you may not have done anything or have anything illegal, but don't assume that will result in them walking away
and you not being charged with some crime or legal issues.
and its in your best interest to have a lawyer present and
DO not to make statements without a lawyer,
and before your home or car is searched GET A LAWYER

never consent to have property searched and demand to see any search warrant, never concede to a warrantless
search, and any warrant will stated what's to be searched and what they expect to find, never volunteer ANY info

I'm in NC. Any competent trial Attorney can accommodate your needs be it gun laws or criminal law or Civil litigation.
All those Companies that are selling legal help are a rip-off. They all have clauses that protect them from you and none for you.

NJ and several other states like NY just got slapped. by the scotus justices for pushing restrictive laws

after an incident, your adrenalin will flood your body & mind.
you won't be thinking correctly

(1) never assume only one attacker is in the area/involved
society's criminal scum likes to travel in groups
(2) never give details to the 911 operator keep to basics like I need an ambulance
(3) keep your mouth shut, you won't be getting details correct! demand an attorney before speaking
(4) be sure you call 911 first, don't let others call.
