if you want simple?
wrap 1" x 1" strips about 5" in length, of venison wrapped in bacon and slow cook in a crock pot for several hours at moderate heat, just under boiling temps.
until the venisons falling off a fork tender with onions and a bit of garlic and about a cup of molasses, a cup of water and a cup of bourbon whiskey,, as a glaze/sauce flavor,
very simple to prepare, and 3-4 hours later you have a delicious dinner,
yeah check every 30-45 minutes and add water if necessary
I generally serve over cooked wild rice
