This topic may have been visited before. I'm sure I'm not going to give you any insights into things mechanical the reason being is that I have very little expertise. So I'll just share a few things here and there trying to contribute a little bit without causing an uproar hee-hee.

As those who read my intro know I'm a newbie a Corvette owner. It has occurred to me that simply owning a Corvette could make a person a Target of law enforcement. That said, I haven't had a ticket for decades. Well I'd like to keep it that way so... Today I started looking at radar detectors and the like.

I could come close to the value of a junkyard C4 purchasing some of these radar detector pieces. But there are good ones I believe, according to reviews, that are affordable. So anyone can go Google this topic and find something that will be useful and save you the price of a ticket and a hike in your insurance rate.

I believe I learned something valuable in researching this topic. It seems the best protection is driving the speed limit! However if you occasionally get distracted or really into your daily Cruise, you might miss that little sign that says speed limit such and such.

What appears to me to be a effective way to protect yourself in the situation is the combination of 2 items.
  1. The first one is a decent radar detector.
  2. The second item is a spray-on coating. The coating is applied to the license plate, the headlight lenses and perhaps other shiny areas.
This coating is called "Veil g5.6 stealth coating"! This stuff messes with the ability of the radar/lidar to het a fix on you.

The lidar is the tech used to bust you via the mail. The x accidentally went through a toll without paying in Chicagoland ..whoops... a few days later in another state, we got a little letter from Illinois with a picture of our car and a fat ticket. Dayum.

There are a number of videos on YouTube that document the effectiveness of his coating combined with a radar detector.

As I said in the beginning of my post here, there are probably many here already well versed in this topic. If you have any recommendations or cool ideas on this topic, please share them!
Thx!

I have one.

Not really needed here in Illinois today.
Its Street Outlaws every single day driving into Chicago.
Not a single day goes by where I do not hit 110-120 mph.

I lived in Chicago, north side, for 8 years back in the day. It was quite a culture shock for a Montana boy.

interesting concept, but Id bet the chances of it actually working and preventing the local leos from clocking your cars speed,
would be similar too the chances of my wife selecting a cute 19-21 year old female escort too keep me occupied,
if shes too busy and having the wife paying for her services.

I'll bet anything that if that guy in the video drove by the cop in 1st gear, engine revving but still doing only 29 mph, he would get busted!

Grumpster... are you trying to corrupt my mind? Lol. If i were only 30 years younger. Dang.

If i were getting sucked in by marketing, it wouldn't be the first time.

The vids convince me. In the vid below the cop keeps shooting him with the lazer trying to get his court evidence. The driver slides by without enough evidence to prosecute.

Yah chevy... it makes good sence not to provoke the authorities. Unfortunately a number of folks have had the fuzz get very creative/imaginative when they want to maintain the upperhand or feel their authority challenged.

Military stealth aircraft use design angles and coatings to defeat radar so this coating product effectiveness is in the realm of possibilities. I'm going to invest in the coating to cover my bets.

let us know how well it works and how much the tickets cost:D:rolleyes:

Buy yourself an EMP device that will make their detector FRY.
The only problem is how to do this without frying the electronics in your own car.
