this combo has alot of out of the box thinking, or atleast the builder didnt look to the common ways of addressing a few issues, such as, but not limited to, routing wastegate exhaust, and that dual tb intake for example.


Have yet to get a well functioning converter for my setup, being rather "peaky" as you might guess. Was running 9.6's at 137 on 8psi last season, and should really kick some boost to it this season after a restall on my new converter I'm using in my nice new 4L80E. Still managing 133mph this season on 6.5psi so far, but converter is too tight for a decent launch.
Setup is running E85 through a 406 10.5:1 solid roller 262/252 116LSA 116ICL .670/.670 Trick Flow 195cc runner 23 degree aluminum heads, and the pair of the 69mm ebay GT45's. Just did a few pulls on a chassis dyno a few days ago and made peak power at 7200rpm. On 6.5psi it put down 650 rwhp, and 9.5psi made 750rwhp.

Thats Insane Phil.
It would cost at least $30 k to build a Pontiac V8 today with all aftermarket parts, aluminum race heads, Normally aspirated power to run the same.

From your Turbo Forums ???
 
I especially like the Tuned Port L98 Throttle bodies.
Throw away items to most Vette C4 owners.
 
thats impressive , but im curious as to the short block components used and if thats a OEM chevy block, because i seldom see OEM blocks hold that much power for too long with out main camps fretting and squirming, as the castings are just not that thick nor the main bearing caps anchored that well to the block even with arp studs
 
Nice turbo oiling supply line of the front of the block. Wonder what they are using for a water pump?
 
i thought you guys might find that interesting... grumpy most of the motors that i hear about falling apart are not a result of power made, there are a flock of 600+hp small block (factory block) gen 1 motors that are turbocharged and loving it. usually when a motor has to come apart theres some sort of tuning problem like detonation. i dont think guys leave the combo alone long enough to see the long term effects of the power.

if you make 650hp at 6 psi, and 750 at 9 psi, why not turn it up to 11 and try to take that 800+ number? this philosophy puts most turbo guys in jeopardy and ultimately theres headgaskets and ringlands damaged and we never see what happens downbelow because they fall victim to their own greed...
 
heres an update on the bottom end...

The bottom end is all aftermarket: Dart little M block, K-1 forged crank, K-1 6.0" billet connecting rods, Wiseco custom flat-top pistons. I have run similar times when I was running a production block 383, but my aim is to get into the 8's if not max out my 8.50 chassis cert.
