I go down to a local auto parts store and want to buy plain old generic cut to fit ignition wire, the kind that you buy all the boots, clips ends connectors and it usually comes with 9 wires or one fairly long roll of wire that you cut to fit the application, now back in the day the kits were reasonably priced and every auto parts store had them ,I went to 4 stores, looking for 8.5mm-10.4 mm cut to fit kits, they either looked at me like I was insane, even asking for something GENERIC, and I did not know what I was talking about, or wanted to sell me a $130-$180 pre-cut set, of crappy wires I would never use!" ignition wire" that in a few cases did not even have a metal core, just carbon core.

now you can get pre-made sets of quality wires but the price is rather steep

I usually use the set above or something similar

I use these and I have no problem with the price..they are the best I've ever used

I don't think all 4 couldn't have been wrong...

It's true, insanity is a common thread among car guys!

I bought a roll from Scott Performance along with a boot kit and ends, 32 pcs ea. I had less in all of it than a couple of good name brand performance sets. They're near Charlotte in Mooresville, cradle of NASCAR and drag boat racing. http://www.scottperformance.com/ignwacc.htm

"If we limit the scope of the question to my search for or about the request for ignition wire sets"

ID have to say , IM at least marginally SANE"

now if we expand the scope to include engine building and hunting elk , I'M guilty no question at all of being clinically obsessed with getting both done correctly.......but how in hell could those factors come into this during the first 1 minute of the conversation?

I can't speak for the others, but I found it pretty easy in the first minute !

What's the first sign of insanity.............DENIAL.

hows the T-BUCKET engine assembly going currently?

Yesterday I took the block to the machine shop for cam bearings. They will also check the cam journal clearances. Will pick it up tomorrow. Then I can get into the valve train checks and rotating assembly clearances around the camshaft. Will continue to work on setting the ring end gaps.

Also I ordered the DVD for rebuilding the 200-4R from
