I went out to work in the shop today and just about everything I started to work on required either I get down and crawl around ,getting a floor jack positioned, or once I was down required me to keep getting up for different tools etc. or at least lean over or kneel down, and for some reason today was especially difficult, the old back and knees fought me every step! and it sure would have helped to have someone hand me tools once I was down, under the car.
yes I could put the car up on my lift, but swapping cars on the lift constantly is also a P.I.T.A. especially when what your doing is fairly easy to do.
yes taking A few aspirin or excedrin helps that but its darn boring at times to be working alone in the shop and being able to discuss options or ideas concerning either what your trying to do or what seems to be working wrong is always helpful, as is having both a different point of view and a totally different set of experience to draw on.

do you guys have several local friends that come over or do you go help other friends on a fairly frequent basis?

Well......compared to Dorian, I'm local!

I would like to be there, we could learn something new together !!!

I lend You a hand & pass tools to You Grumpy if I was closer to You.

I really do appreciate that offer, of help, and promise Ill never abuse it ,and i will sure try to arrange the time frame of any visit with lots of notice if possible, so neither of us runs in to time conflicts , too give you plenty of notice.
but I will sure, like to take advantage of it once I get both some spare cash and free time on the same week end to play with!

Ive got several projects that will require someone with.... as my wife says
" the knowledge, LEVEL too tell a TIG welder from an ANVIL"
which she swears her brother and her sisters husband fail miserably at!
THATS WHY SHE PREFERS THAT THEY DON,T TOUCH A DARN THING IN MY SHOP UNLESS I'M THERE TO SUPERVISE,

BECAUSE SHE HATES TO HEAR ME LATER MUTTERING ABOUT MORONS TOUCHING TOOLS, OR LEAVING THEM AROUND BROKEN OR MISSING PARTS

SHE SAYS SHE CAN ALMOST TELL WHICH OF HER RELATIVES with a car problem, VISITED

Im in loxahatchee florida thats about 25-30 miles west, of west palm beach, roughly near Seminole Pratt Whitney and west sycamore , thats about 4.5 miles north of southern

I am in Illinois .
My area known as the Illinois Valley.
Interstate 80 & Route 39 Intersect right through it.
Chicago about 100 miles North.
Peoria 50 miles South.
Joliet 70 miles away.
Rockford Byron is 70 miles North.
Off the beaten path like Grumpy outside of town on my 5 acre farmhouse property.

Grump, you're right up the road. You go to the Barrett Jackson auction a couple weeks ago?

sure thing grump, and i understand completely about having know nothings (as goood as their intentions may be) in the shop tearin stuff up. i like to think i can atleast quickly identify and hand you tools, but i bow to your superior experience in the field. im sure i can be of some assistance sometimes.

to get to your place i can take us27 all the way up to belle glade and slide on over, wouldnt even have pay a toll (remember when they used to be dimes and quarters?) shit my sunpass bill is almost 100 bucks every month getting to and from school and the shop, i had to start taking surface streets just to be able to afford gas and a decent lunch!

hey by the way i thought loxahatchee was like north of boca but south of delray.... you say your in loxahatchee but your way out near the big O

snooping around on google maps i see theres a HIALEAH drive a couple blocks south of sycamore on seminole pratt whitney... hialeah is like the northernmost tip of cuba here in dade county. alot of housing, but also a big hub for industry and logistics, not so much like downtown or miami beach where the industry is basically hospitality and service based business.

oh and as you can see on my avatar they used to have a race track.... and like most race tracks around here it got shut down because it was too noisy for the neighhbors

I used to be an engineer working for AT&T and worked all over Hialeah, I purchased a few of my elk rifles from that HIALEAH RANGE gun shop on the west end of that bridge on 103rd street as you enter Hialeah from the east from Miami, and worked repairing all kinds of equipment all thru that industrial area from south and east of the palmetto expressway and east to about 47th ave and north of sw 8th street.
I then worked all thru Broward , then all the way up state from Okeechobee, sebring, daytona , Orlando, west palm beach and occasionally in several cities in Colorado, California, and Georgia , on loan

oh well then you're familiar with the place, i dont know what it was like when you worked there but traffic is crazy there nowadays, a traveling job like that would be road rage inducing pretty quickly

My closest hotrod buddy is Indycars, and he's about 2 1/2 hrs away. But we have fun when I go up there.

i got grumpy about two hours away with traffic, and notata not much further up the road so id say we're semi local... maybe not come over after work, but definitely make a saturday out of it.

I hope Grumpy can get his BBC Into his 1985 Corvette this Year.
