now I won,t mention company names , as I'm reasonably sure this is a problem more related to a single tech, rather than the company,
but at times you have to wonder how some people even hold a job?
one of my friends purchased a new in the box EFI intake for a chevy LS engine,
that someone had purchased, but obviously never installed,
it was on sale at a yard sale,
it was obviously that while it was in storage ,
some one at some point,stored the parts,
for a project that never got done!
and that someone had mis-placed or lost a couple minor linkage parts.
so my friend who purchased what looked to be a basically new,
never installed EFI intake and 90% of the related components at a local moving/yard sale,
called the manufacturers, company too purchase the few missing parts.
the guy answering the phone says the missing parts are no longer available,
as that particular part number has not been sold in over 2 years.,
yes they do have a few remaining random parts,
but unless its under warranted coverage hes not allowed to sell those.,
he then asked if the guy mailed in the warrantee registration card,
when he purchased the EFI,
(heres where it gets stupid) the guy at the tech desk asked for the number off the box it came in ,
maybe trying too be helpful ,after a few minutes, he says he found the warrantee card, warrantee has expired as...
it says you bought that in 1968
now my friend asked a simple question,
" since its obvious that no one anywhere was selling a MPFI computer controlled EFI in 1968
for a chevy LS engine that had not even been invented yet in 1968, could it be possible your records are wrong?
the tech desk guy had to admit that did seem a bit odd,
but he refused to look for the parts as it was obvious
from the registration card ,
that the parts were not under warrantee...
as a side note,
my friend found what he needed on ebay for under $30
