Its a 2nd generation Delco CS144 140 amp alternator I built for Dorian. ;)
1994 vintage.
Its now a self exciting alternator. 1-wire hookup.
Connect the charge output lead the vehicle positive battery post. Instant turn on. Start engine, alternator charges immediate.
14.7vdc regulator setpoint.
New Transpo voltage regulator.
New brush holder and brushess.
New front and rear rotor bearings.
New Transpo Super Heavy Duty Rectifier, Avalanche Diodes, press fit, 70 amp diodes each, good for up to 200 amps continous current rectifier bridge current output.
Rotating field and stator winding painted with GE GLYPTAL, 10 coats, baked to 250 degrees F.
Front and Rear housing and fan cleaned and painted with high temp ceramic based aluminum silver paint, 5 coats, baked to 250 degrees F, maxi duribility. Tough as powder coat paint. Heat dissapation formulated paint.

Spin test tommarow night or Friday after work.
Should put out 100 amps at 1800 rpm rotor speed.
Peak close to 200 amps. At least 140 for sure.
Easily handle Dorians High Amperage needs present and in the future.

Everyone says the boy Nicky looks like me, a mini me.

Spin tested Dorian's CS144 tonight on an alternator tester, CRUMBLES with a 7 horse electric drive motor.
At about 1800 rpm rotor speed, it put out 105 amp@14.7 volts.
Spun it up fast, pegged the ampmeter , 160 amps@14.7 volts.
Its a very powerful high amp alternator.
Ready to ship out to Belgium for Dorian's Tangerine Tornado.

OK Dorian.
I will build another CS144 for me this next week. Install on my 1987 Corvette convertible, replace the smaller CS130.

When your CS144 alternator was spin load tested, it never even broke a sweat. Temperature rise of maybe to 105 degrees F.
Just luke warm to the touch of my hand.
If it was a smaller GM CS130 spin load tested, afterwards it would be around 200 to 300 degrees F. Burn your hand smoldering hot.

Without A Doubt, the GM Delcotron CS144 is a superior alternator, high idle current, high peak amp loads, very well engineered, proven durability.
They were made from 1986 to 2006 , for select GM Vehicles with high output current- amperage needs like police cars.

You will be 100% satisfied your CS144 alternator I built for you Dorian.
Last You for the next 20 years at least & the Tangerine Tornado.

Makes me wonder why the CS130 was even made to begin with.
A toy compared to a CS144 Top Gun High Amp Alternator.

Off to Indiana this weekend myself Dorian.
Found something I want & must have. I can afford too. Another Tool- Toy for me. ;) :D
